Brand new 2018 Enclave Essence, a strange sound is either coming from the air system (makes the noise with air off or on) or the motor. It doesn’t do it all the time but a lot and it’s pretty loud. Its a fluttering, tapping light knocking noise. No matter speed, air on or off, it still does it, it seems is coming from the center of the inside. It stops on it’s own but comes back. Has anyone else noticed anything similar. This car only as 400 miles on it.
Hello;
Yes, I have the same issue with my 2018 Buick Regal TourX.
I got the car with 6 miles on it and it started to do that noise at about 60 miles and has continued since.
I did go to the dealer and they told me it’s normal, but it’s not.
Mine only turns on when the car goes into Auto-Stop mode and I have the heat on.
If the AC is on then it doesn’t seem to turn on, although it does sometimes happen when you accelerate harder.
Dealer told me that it’s a normal sound that the heat exchange pump makes when the vehicle goes into Auto-Stop mode.
The noise it makes during that is much quieter then the noise I’m talking about. I even recorded a video of it and the dealer laughed it off like its supposed to make that sound. So I recorded a video of normal operation vs this fluttering/tapping sound.
GM states in their release that it’s normal, I think they’re going to have a recall on that pump/fan.
Do you have the manual climate system or the automatic one?
Thanks.
My 97 Park Avenue heater vent actuator would make noise sometimes when switching from AC to heater.
As I know, noises sometimes carry through your vents from the furnace or AC unit itself.
