I know the Indiana plant was shut down for a couple of weeks due to the chip shortage, but I put a deposit down on a Silverado Trail Boss that was showing “on the road” in Marion, Ohio back on March 9th. Still no movement or updated ETA to the dealer. Anyone know what’s going on there?

I had one that was finished 2/23 pre refreshed Trail Boss
and was told i wouldn’t see until late summer..
So i canceled the order and ordered a Refreshed Trail boss…Getting info from GM is near impossible…!

SGarcia – Thanks for sharing your experience. Wow–that’s a long delivery time estimate! I was worried before and now I’m terrified. We committed to buying an “In Transit” LT Limited back on 12/29 under the guidance from our local dealer that it would arrive in 10-14 days. That deadline quickly came and went and we weren’t getting any communication from the dealer so we reached out to Chevy through their chat. We learned that the truck was in Kokomo, IN on 2/7 and in Marion, OH by 2/14. Since then, it hasn’t moved and no ETA has been provided. Sounds like the same situation as GreeneGuy1970. I was thinking we’d be hearing that it shipped any day now (dealer continues to tell us they have no info), but you have me wondering if late summer is more realistic. I really don’t love the idea of getting the old model this late in the year and am wondering if we should also order a new one and wait it out since those seem to be the logistical priority. I’m sure I’m not the only one. This is just crazy…

Jkskilling, Yesterday was in my veiw hilarious 🤣
So the Executive team Called around 11 am to thank me for my patience and determination to buy a new truck.lol
As well as the new order for a refreshed model Trail Boss.
She went on to apologize for not being able to help fulfill the old order from last year… i thanked her for trying and staying in touch. Finally she requested ending the resolution.. I agreed and stated lets move on..
          So it gets better….!
So I’m doing some chores and my wife says to me she saw a truck she thought resembles the original purchase at the Dealership. I said I’ll drive over and look at it
and i did ….low and behold there she was dirty as all get out. It looked like it had been sitting for a long time..!
This was after 5 pm so i couldn’t talk with the dealer.
So i texted him to ask about it. He said it’s not mine..lol
          I didn’t argue….wow.
So the next day come around and around 10:30 am the dealer calls and apologize and said the truck just showed up as well as the reason he thought it belonged to someone else (sold).
He asked me if i was still interested .
Nope I’ll waite for a refreshed model. So the waiting goes on…!

That story is NUTS! How on earth could the folks at GM with whom you spoke earlier that day about a resolution not have a clue that your original order was now at a dealer? Then, how could the dealer have misinformed you so much about the delivery date and then lie to you about whether it was yours? The customer service is just falling apart at these companies.

On the plus side, I’m hoping that means I’m not waiting until late summer for mine! Best of luck with the new build! Hopefully Chevy will continue to prioritize those for your sake.

          jkskilling,
Ya Think ! I do want to point out in this process it is not the fault of the Dealership ! No one expected the truck to arrive anytime soon..! I believe the Dealers rep made things happen..! I Believe there is apart of there system that is broken..Every one I have spoken with at GM was kind . But the botton line at the end of the day there was nothing they could do.

SGarcia I agree. Getting truthful information would be nice! I called Thursday morning and was told mine is in transit, called back Friday to verify, and was told it’s waiting to be shipped. If I hadn’t already signed paperwork, I would order a refresh. Seems like they are getting delivered

Yeah….I’m close to talking to my bank to see what my options are. I am just worried that if I order a refreshed that it will be delayed as well, and I’m not excited about the price difference. And I agree with you, SGarcia, it’s not the dealership’s fault. I can imagine they are as frustrated as the rest of us! Can’t sell them if they don’t get them

      GreeneGuy197, I hear ya !
The price on average went up 3400.00 and i added a few more options making the refreshed Trail Boss model costing 6 k more..On top of that i won’t see a new Truck until September or October !
