Ordered my Silverado 2500 HD in January. Build 4-14. Shipped from Oshawa plant to Willow Run Storage CCA 057 (checked in on 5-19).

      2GC4YPEY8N1219544 is the vin.

Does anyone know how long these trucks sit and wait in this yard to move to wherever next?!

I’m only in Pennsylvania. I wish I could just go pickup my truck!

Big Show, how did you find it was shipped to a yard? I keep seeing people talk about being able to track their order but I cannot find the site?

Your dealer has the info. Ask for a screenshot of vinview and it will tell you where it is.

I was told after the first ship mine should arrive in the Baltimore/Washington area and that is where the problem is. They can’t get transportation from there. We plan to fill out the appropriate paperwork to go get it ourselves. There are waivers to fill out. He says cars can sit there for months. Baltimore is 2 hours from me. I’m trying to figure out how to track my build progress on the car.

I am maybe in a similar boat, I just found out that my truck was produced and to contact my dealership for shipping details. I contacted my dealership and the salesperson that sold me the truck is no longer there. So they transferred me to someone else who told me that GM doesn’t tell them anything and they will call me when my truck is there. Then i logged onto chevy and chatted with someone and got this

“Thank you for patiently waiting. Base on our data, we are still awaiting a shipping update. GM audits all production vehicles to insure the absolute best quality prior to shipment. If issues are identified they are corrected prior to shipment. Delays can be extended based on potential material and labor availability.”

      So no potential ship date?

“I apologize for the inconvenience. Right, there are many reasons for delays, including but not limited to plant shutdowns and parts delays/shortage. At this time, this is the best information we can provide you with. May I assist you with anything else?”

What a joke, how can a multi billion dollar mega company literally have no idea on when their customers will receive their orders?

Not a 2500, but my 1500 LTD is built and has been sitting in an overflow yard at the factory since February with no information, and no ETA. When I call or chat, the only information I ever get is “At this point, your dealership is your best point of contact for shipping information”, but they can’t get info either. I understand there are labor shortages, but it is very frustrating, especially when I see refresh models on nearby lots built at the same factory more than a month later…..

I ended up buying a truck already built in Canada was finished on 5/19/2022 and I purchased it on 5/25/2022. So I curious to see how long I will wait. The dealer did say if I don’t have the truck by my first payment they are making it until I have the truck in my hands. So we will see. I text my sales person on Saturday and never heard back. I live in N.E. Ohio, Canada isn’t that far maybe I should take a ride!

asphaltlou I signed all the paperwork for mine on Feb 26. It was already built and was showing an ETA of Mar 19 until Mar 17, and hasn’t moved or updated since then.

So I found a Ram, Laramie, black out edition on the lot and ready to go would be in my driveway by the end of the week. My dealership is saying my truck “could” be here as early as next week. It is at the flint accessory depot getting the spray bed liner put in it and in 4300 status. They also said they will go get it as soon as its available (we are about 2 hours from Flint). I NEED a truck to pull a 5th wheel that we are using for 2 months starting 6/20. I am really having a terrible time with this decision… Do i trust the dealership or just buy the Ram?

I don’t get how Chevy does things. My truck went from
Canada to Michigan and now is back in Canada at the shipping yard with a “pending dispatch” status. I’m assuming 12,000 trucks are in front of me to ship.

Everytime I ask my dealer to get the waiver and I will go get the truck myself they just ignore my request. I love GM but this is ridiculous. I get parts issues but shipping? C’mon man….

It is hard to trust anything you hear from GM. For the past three months my truck was built and constantly getting conflicting reports. It did finally get off loaded at the train depot and my dealer is picking it up this week however I got yet another email from Chevy yesterday telling me “my order has been accepted and is awaiting production” and to “check with dealer for further updates”. Last week that email said my truck had been built and was “awaiting shipping”. Many of these sources will tell you anything, don’t trust any of them. When your truck rolls off the carrier at your dealer you can then and not until then believe what is true and what is BS. Good luck guys.

So I am going forward with the Ram and leaving the Silverado ordered as is. When and if the Silverado ever gets here I am going to park the Ram next to it and decide which one I want and either leave the Silverado with the dealer to sell or sell the Ram myself and hopefully at least break even. Can’t trust that the Silverado will be ready by 6/20 at this point.

Ordered a 2500HD on 4/4/2022. It was built in middle of June and is sitting in a lot in Michigan waiting to be delivered. My dealer and GM simply cant tell me when I can expect delivery. I have a month long trip scheduled for 8/17 with our travel trailer. I am told there is no way for me to pick it up myself. I’m a patient person but I find this situation maddening. Can someone at GM unscrew this mess?

At least you guys got your truck built.

I traded in my 2021 2500 HD Custom CC LB 4×4 gas 6.6 on 12/22/21, when I ordered the 2022, same model, with several more options.
Got a good deal at MSRP with trade in value equal to the MSRP of the new truck so no sales tax and only had to pay approx. $200.00 in fees.
Was told 4-12 mo. for delivery but really did not believe it could take that long. I was wrong!

six mo. later, a month ago, I was told GM will not build any more long beds this year so if I want a long bed I will have to reorder a 2023.
I want the LB so I agreed to order the 23 but did not even have pricing yet but was told no constraints on my order at this time, just waiting on allocation. I knew it was going to cost more as I was going to loose price protection with the reorder and had seen 22 prices rise $2800.00 since my order plus the new year model increase, unknown at the time.

A week later I learned from distribution updates that the trailering mirrors with the power fold (code DWI) are no longer available and will be replaced with (DWC) mirrors, same except with out power fold. I called my sales rep to confirm and he had to look it up and confirmed they are not available at this time. I expressed my disappointment that now I can’t even get all the options I want and still don’t even have a cost yet.

today, seven mo. after order, still don’t have a build accepted by GM. I went to dealer today to have a meeting with my sales rep.
After reviewing the build we learned the pricing would not show for the custom value package but by deleting that and keeping the custom convenience package I get every thing except the infotainment package that includes onstar and siris radio trial.
As was not going to continue the onstar and siris anyway that was no big loss. With that change he was able to get pricing for the new 23 build that ended up with an MSRP approx. 5K more than the MSRP of the 22, with out the 5K market adjustment add on.
After further discussion and involving the finance manager they decided to sell me the 23 at invoice plus $500.00
That ended up being actually less than the original deal by a few hundred dollars. The bad news is they still can’t tell me when the order will get accepted and built and only GM knows when they will decide to build the Customs with long beds but I am at the top of the list for allocation when ever GM decides to give it to them. My dealer is a smaller home town dealer so doesn’t get as many allocations as a large city dealer but they also usually have a much longer waiting list to go through before getting to the top of the list waiting for allocation.

My point is that there are good dealers out there! They have treated me with respect and been fair and honest in their dealings and
have not given me the BS runaround. They realize that they made a fair profit on my trade in, 7 mo. ago, and do not need to shaft me now on the reorder for the 23 and they feel bad that they are at the mercy of GM and haven’t been able to deliver me a new truck yet. My rep. has spent many hrs. with me and I have not had to sign anything until the truck is delivered.

I feel sorry for the guys that were sold a new vehicle, in transit, at 5K or more over MSRP and signed the deal so are now having payments and even insurance, in some cases, for a vehicle thy don’t have yet. And will GM reset the warranty and trial or paid subscription services when they do arrive? I don’t know.

The waiting game continues but at least I don’t feel like I have been screwed and I believe the wait will be worth it once it finally arrives and is worth about 10K more than I paid for it in the current market.

New development. Dealer called today to inform me he had a cancellation on an LT 2500HD that was just delivered.
I went to look and it is a nice 2022 2500HD LT CC LB 4×4 6.6 gas. in Red Hot color with the Z-71 Sport edition, off road suspension, All Star edition, fifth wheel package, Safety package, Convenience 2 package with advanced trailering, dual climate controls, power fold trailer mirrors, multi flex tailgate, heated seats and steering wheel with leather wrap and much more. heated seats and steering wheel waiting for chip retrofit.
Way more loaded than the Custom I ordered but missing a few options I wanted like dual alternators and batteries and 20″ wheels.
After some negotiation they made me an excellent offer since I had been waiting so long for an order not even built yet So I went for it.
Will go in Monday to close the deal and bring it home.

Closed the deal today on the Red 2500HD. Went well after patiently listening to the sales manager’s sales pitch for all the aftermarket products and then politely declining we got down to business and closed the deal for the agreed upon price, that I was asked not to disclose. I can say I was treated very well and fair by my local dealership, Curry GMC in Bloomington IN.
I tried but don’t know how to post pictures here. Does this site not support that?
