So after purchasing a used LTZ loaded equinox like many others I was shocked to find out that I can’t stream music via Bluetooth. My car has the pioneer system, color touch screen, xm. onstar and gps. I thought I would just do the PDIM swap but to no avail. I popped off the side panel and it’s a no go, there wasn’t even one there. So my question is can I swap out just my head unit for say a 2013 mylink one to get Bluetooth streaming and the Pandora app or do more system components have to be replaced. I looked at the back of mine with a snake cam and can see that I have 6 or so connections to the back of the radio and that looks about right for the mylink radios. I understand that if i can swap them out I still will have to have a gm dealer unlock it but for roughly how much? also if I switch them will I maintain the current functions that I already have. Any help is appreciated.
