Hello;
It’s my first time posting with you guys but I have a question.
Buick was my first American car and I have an issue.
The rear bumper tow hook cover keeps falling off and I’ve been to the dealership twice already and they won’t replace it.
But my question is not about the cover. it’s the actual tow hook placement.
Every car I’ve owned had a front and rear tow hook mount spot. This tourX has the places in the bumpers for the hook to be installed but when you pop them off there is no actual place to install the hook to. The front has a foam bumper support and the rear just has an empty hole so when you try to put the hook in, it just falls in.
There is no bolt to screw the hook to, just an empty beam.I asked the dealer about that and he said that it’s an “upgrade” that my car doesn’t have.
How do you expect to tow a car out of a ditch or anywhere for that matter without a proper mount for doing so.
I wouldn’t want the towing guy to hook up to my suspension and bend/brake it.
I looked around in the rear for a secondary hookup and there is nothing there.I wanted to post this up to see if anyone has come up with this problem and is that really an “$700 upgrade option” on a car that was built in Europe (where every car has a town hook).
I sincerely feel they’re trying to pull my leg and have me spend $700 for something that should come as a standard feature.
Thank you!
