I had my 2014 Chevy Sonic LT in the shop (dealership) recently for a recall repair. It had to do with the stereo/MyLink needing an upgrade because the door chime wasn’t working long enough when the keys were left in. Now, my mp3 player (plugged into the usb port) always plays songs in the same order when on shuffle. It didn’t do this before the upgrade. Also, when I am listening to the mp3 player and turn the car off, when I turn it back on it defaults to the radio and not even one of the presets. Help! It’s more of a nuisance than anything.
@janesays1215 Though I haven’t seen the issue myself, I have heard a few folks have issues after having the door chime recall performed on the Sonics and Traxes.
First question would be, what kind of MP3 player are you using and is shuffle still enabled on it? It sounds like it might be off.
If shuffle is still on, then I would try:
1. Unplugging your MP3 player
2. Resetting MyLink from the settings menu
3. Re-connecting your MP3 player
Second question: are the radio presets still stored the way you had them? Something tells me the recall-related update wiped them.
Thanks for replying. I have two mp3 players, both are Philips GoGear Arias (one is a few years older than the other). Both are set to shuffle, so I will try resetting MyLink.
The recall update did completely wipe my presets.
