So, today we discovered that you can’t choose points of interest with the nav system while the car (2013 Equinox) in in drive! WHY? In the Ford nav system, you can. I would find gas stations, stores, restaurants etc. while my husband drove. Tried this today in the new Equinox, and discovered it would only bring up the POI lists while parked. Is this the way the GM nav system is or is something wrong with ours? I sure hope it’s the latter!
I would like to look into this for you so could you please private message me your vehicle identification number (VIN). This way I can look into this further on your exact vehicle.

Probably designed like that for safety, so the driver is not distracted looking for POI’s.
But what about the passenger?? There should be a way to turn off the safety setting, like on portable nav systems. I mean, if we’re heading down I94 and my husband asks me to look for a restaurant using POI, we sure aren’t going to exit and stop to do this! Defeats the purpose.
My friends concerns matters to me, he is asking about the navigation guide which which he holds no references on how to use it, is there he could get a replacement or any downloadable format perhaps that can be reprinted in booklets format like the work of this site http://www.digitekprinting.com/booklets-color.
