Has anyone gone to ft Wayne to pickup their truck directly from the factory?
Is that even possible??
I am curious how your truck and mine got built in Ft. Wayne since 99% of 1500 crews are built in Mexico. I am happy about this but curious as to what triggered them to be built there since mostly Ft. Wayne builds 1500 doubles and regular cabs. I ordered the 3.0 diesel and thinking this might have been the trigger since that is where that engine is built. Which motor did you choose?
I think it’s the trim level. I got LTZ no diesel
I got the 3.0 Denali and it’s in ft Wayne
I heard the work trucks were being built in Mexico.
Silv2111 You may very well be right. I would be curious if anyone else here has done the same. Mine is on the train from Ft. Wayne to Selkirk, NY now. My dealer does their own transport from there so it shouldn’t be much longer now. At least it didn’t get parked in a field somewhere till the grass grows up around it as so many seem to. Do you have any details on yours whereabouts?
I was told about a week to two weeks but I have yet to get any further updates so I am thinking it is still a line of bs as usual.
My 1500 was built late January in Ft Wayne, and has not shipped yet.
