Saw where owners were stating that their 2013 SRX came with oil dipstick part number 12632893 and when oil was changed, it showed 1/2 qt overfill when 6 qts used. When the dealer replaced with 12657038, oil showed at the full mark.
Owner stated, “I know 12632893 and 12657038 are graduated differently because I had the opportunity to compare them side-by-side and by measuring the oil in my engine.”
I will be taking my 2013 SRX in for service soon and I am concerned about this since mine has the 12632893 dipstick. I have checked with a dealer service manager and was told that the 12632893 dipstick was replaced with 12657038 and all was ok.
I am concerned. If when the oil is changed and is only filled to the FULL mark on current dipstick that it will actually be 1/2 qt low.
RECOMMENDATIONS???
I’d check on this http://www.srxforum.net/index.php?topic=6303.0… hopefully it helps
Thanks. Taking it in for oil change as soon as it gets to 20% oil life remaining. I requested the dipstick be replaced and the dealer ordered 12657038 and will replace at oil change which will satisfy me. To some this might not seem important but it is to me.
