ParticipantHello Everyone.
Beave here, Wally’s missing but that’s another story.I live in the South of Seattle Washington area and am excited that me and the Wife put in a Factory order for a 2022 Silverado LTD RST Sky Blue Metallic!
Just got back from the dealership putting down a Deposit.
And getting it with the Duramax Diesel 3.0 engine.
Now we wait, but this being our first ever factory order, it’ll be exciting seeing the progress.
Might take up to 4 to 6 months but we know this. We also know the weird situation with Chips and parts but the truck is pretty standard and there are quite a few out there, they all had cloth seats though and we want the Leather. So, other than the dealer is there anyway to check on the progress of the order?
And on the order it says “MSRP w/DFC +”
Anyone know what DFC stands for?So good to be here.
I bought my Wife a RST Red Tintcoat last year for her Valentine’s Day present, and we love it!
A GREAT truck getting 32-34 mpg on the freeway and it looks BadAss!Stay safe everyone!

ParticipantWas this order placed today? 02/19/2022? 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD?
Production of the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 NON-LTD will begin at the GM Silao Assembly facility in Mexico on February 21st, while the GM Fort Wayne Assembly facility in Indiana will begin building the refreshed truck on March 14th.
Non-LTD Silverado’s are scheduled to begin production in a matter of days.
Something isn’t adding up…
DFC is the Destination charge… $1695.00

ParticipantNo, Warranty Police, it was placed this past Monday.
I built it on Chevy’s site and it Is a 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD crew cab short bed RST.
From what I could learn this is NOT going to be the “Refresh” but the one they’ve been building over the last year. Now it has the possibility to turn into a Refresh since the wheels are turning to start producing those. In fact one of the local dealers here, North Bend Chevrolet sent me info on an “in transit” Silverado and it IS one of the new refresh complete with the new interior and color is Glacier Blue Metallic. So, someone is already producing them. I believe they also sent me the sticker but I don’t know if I saved it because we want the sky blue color, the Glacier is way too Loud, although it does look nice.
So, again, it’ll be an interesting ride to see how this plays out.
Thanks for the info, I’m sucking it up like a sponge right now.

Take care

ParticipantI found the email for the Refresh but the link to the pictures is gone.
And, re looking at her email, she gave me the Build order specs including the Glacier Blue Color. But, and forgive me as I’m still learning here, she found the order as “Placed”. I initially thought it was in transit to her dealership.I guess I have to keep in mind that I’m dealing with car salesman.
Funny thing is with the Glacier Blue, she offered me to put a down payment on it, even though she didn’t have a MSRP FOR THE VEHICLE!
That’s how desperate she is.All is good. We’ll wait in line. The Refresh has the new Instrument cluster but the front grill moves the Chevy Bow up right below the hood, meh. The LTD has the Black Bow Tie in the middle of the grill, nails it for me!
I could live with it if I had to, the trade off is the new instrument cluster which is digital, as opposed to the LTD version which is analog old school.
So we’ll see what happens. This is in the transitional period of production, so, do you make a current one up for a factory order or do you upgrade it to a Refresh current model.
Time will tell.
Everyone enjoy your weekend!
I’m totally stoked to have an order in!

ParticipantIt’s my understanding that once the Refresh starts production then the LTD stops. If this is an LTD then I don’t get the 4 – 5 months. If you have your sales order code you can “chat” with a rep online just go to chevrolet.com and look for customer support. Once you connect with someone provide that code and they can tell you if the order has been accepted and the anticipated production date. For instance I ordered my Refresh (High Country) around mid Jan, I was told by both the dealer and doing the chat the scheduled build date is the week of 2/28. Because dates have been known to slip with GM I will be following up with both this week and every week until I actually have the vehicle. Good luck to you, but I think I would ask a few more questions.

ParticipantJGW, that’s also what I think will happen. It just makes sense that if they have to re tool they would retire the LTD. But it’s also possible that they could have a partially completed truck that they could slap the Leather seats on and pull that one for my order. It’s a guaranteed sale, and they want to sell trucks.
I did start a chat earlier today on Chevrolet.com but the person said that the department that checks factory orders is closed today, and to try tomorrow or next week.
But in any case, if they come back and say they no longer can do an LTD then I’ll go for the refresh.
With the used market in Crazyville right now, (just saw on the morning news the average used car price for a 3 year old car is over $40,000) it just makes sense to buy new, especially getting that Diesel engine, which is really important to us.So we’ll see. Reading older posts here about factory orders and peoples experience with them it’s apparent to us that ANYTHING can happen.
The Important thing for us was to get an order in NOW.
And I will post development’s as they happen. Because as you pointed out, our timing here is going to make for an interesting ride. But one HUGE thing is we found a dealer that is not going to charge us over MSRP. I put feelers out to at least 9 local dealers here and Everyone of them are charging $2-$5,000 over MSRP.
It’s totally crazy.Beave

ParticipantOrder Accepted!
But today on GM forums I learned that as of last December 16th, orders for my LTD with the Diesel was allocated 0%.
So……From your guys older posts I kinda know that there’s no rhyme nor reason to what GM does.
And my dealer did email me today that the order was indeed “accepted” but there is a “restraint” on the Diesel due to chips.
Hmmmmmmm.
And, production of the Refresh 2022 Silverado went on line this past Monday. So, ok, I’m learning and you guys have much more experience with this than the Wife and I.
But why would the Accept an order for an LTD when the very week they did that their switching production to the Refresh?Does an LTD order in this case, turn into a Refresh order?
Or are they still making LTD factory orders? And do I need to ask my dealer to modify our order from and LTD TO A REFRESH?
Or do I do nothing and let fate take its course?

ParticipantI started with a factory order request of a 2022 Silverado LTD LTZ Model in Mid-January. I didn’t know any better…It was accepted, and when I checked back with the dealer I found out it was for the 2022 Refreshed model. In other words, no acceptance for the limited model would be honored after the middle of December. So, it automatically was submitted for the refreshed model. That was my experience, and originally I wanted the refreshed anyway. So I’m happy with the order.
However, you may want top check with the dealer to make sure the order is pushed through, as he may not want to do anything with the assumption that you want ONLY the Limited version and NOT the refreshed. Better safe than sorry to check with the dealer. If you don’t mind a refresh model, you may expedite the process by looking into it, rather than waiting for the dealer to reach out to you to ask if you are OK with the switch. Just my 2 cents.

ParticipantI agree with 1nonlymre you should also ask your dealer for a copy of the sales order they submitted to GM, and they should have no problem providing this to you. This will show your sales order # and everything about your vehicle. Mine shows Event Codes which you can look up online (try googling GM order Tracking event codes). For instance mine as of Tuesday showed 3400 translating to “order for production and has been loaded onto the assembly plant computers”. The next one I’m looking for is 3800 meaning order produced and VIN is available. If your dealer is telling you that GM has accepted the order your event code should be 2000. I’m not aware of any delays regarding trucks with diesels as I mentioned earlier I ordered mine with the 3.0 Duramax and is scheduled for production next week. gdog6979 if it was me I’d go back to the dealership and not leave until I had all the answers I wanted and completely satisfied. Remember there’s lots of dealers out there. I live in AZ and am buying mine through a dealer in Wi. Good luck to you

ParticipantJGW and 1nonlymre, thank you!
I’ve got the order here, it’s from GM OrderWORKBENCH.
IT SHOWS THE MODEL AS “CK 10543-1500. SILVERADO: 4wd, Short, Crew
Model year 2022
Allocation group LDSILV
Order type SRE Retail sold
Bac 114476 BFC 1There is no reference to an “LTD” model. So this could very well be the refresh.
Now I am 9th in line for their allocation, so there are 8 people in front of me and we knew that, it’s just going to take time, which we also knew.So my original salesman, the owners son, has been out on vacation and will be back I think next week.
I’ve been talking to the man who actually orders the truck, he runs the fleet division. And I did let him know in my last email that we would definitely take a refresh. But next week I’ll also email Andrew and let him know that I would like clarity on this and if he can make sure we have the order for a refresh. After that if there’s no clarity I’ll ask for the deposit back and start from square one, but they were the only local dealer that isn’t jacking up the price over MSRP, and that’s the biggie.
Plus they do have a good reputation around here.
So we’ll see what we get over the next week.
The fleet guy did tell us he gets his GM allocation every Thursday. So if I can be assured that the order is for a refresh then it’s just a waiting game, and I’m cool with that.So thank you guys for the information, very helpful as this is like a wacky roller coaster ride! But that also makes it fun for me.
Have a great Friday everyone!

ParticipantAhh…I see your model is a CK10543. That, my friend, is the number associated to a refreshed Silverado. It appears your order, like with mine, was changed to reflect the request for a refreshed model.
See here for the model codes verification from chevy: https://www.gmfleetorderguide.com/NASApp/domestic/proddesc.jsp?year=2022&butID=1®ionID=1&divisionID=1&vehicleID=22363&type=0According to this link, you have 4WD Short Bed Crew Cab (CK10543) —- > 2022 REFRESHED MODEL
…
Also compare the codes for the limited (LTD) versions: https://www.gmfleetorderguide.com/NASApp/domestic/proddesc.jsp?year=2022&butID=1®ionID=1&divisionID=1&vehicleID=22277&type=0According to this link, the limited code for the type of truck you originally ordered is 4WD Short Bed Crew Cab (CK18543) —- > 2022 LIMITED MODEL

As the say…..”You DA Man”!
Excellent detective work, really! And it does say at the bottom of that doc there might be limited availability of some things due to chip shortages, so that fits with what my Fleet guy told me.
But time is on our side and I we are 9th in line so by the time our number comes up hopefully the diesel will be ready for us. It is a popular engine so I’m sure GM isn’t giving up on it.
As I said my Wife’s 21 RST gets between 31 and 34 mpg on the hiway. And we love diesel, it’s just such a different vibe for us and we like it.So you made our Friday! THANK YOU!
I really like the LTD front grill better but I really like the new instrument cluster over the older analog, and when I thought about it I said to myself, “Self, when your driving this thing your Not going to be looking at the front grille, your going to be looking at the instrument panel”………So now I can rev down to chill mode. 4 months is going to be a long time but I can look forward to a really nice truck!
Stay safe, keep your head low and just let the arrows fly OVER your head!

ParticipantAlright! Happy Saturday the 5th of March to you all.
So our latest update marks our officially joining the “Crazy Factory Order Development” group.
Our dealer put our order in on February 10 or February 14th.
The next week thanks to your info here we went on the Chevrolet.com Chat and started getting updates, keeping in mind that our order is 9th in line from the Dealership.By the 21st we found that our order had been “Officially” accepted by. Chevrolet! Yea!
Then the 28th, checked it again and same thing, “Officially Accepted by Chevrolet and awaiting the process to production”.
Then Bang, Crash, Smash, Baam!
Today, “The Dealer has submitted your order to Chevrolet, but it HASN’T been officially Accepted”.
Please check back for the latest information from your dealer or Chevrolet.com”.So, please welcome us to the your crazy world of Factory orders! Lol!
I’m actually not angry at this latest development, kind of expected something to flatten the tire along the way.
No word from our dealership, and that’s not surprising either. Just going to ride it out and see what happens.
Oh, and as I posted in the thread here about the Refresh Configuration tool going live, I went there and rebuilt our RST 4WD SHORT with the exact same options, Leather, Dark Package, Diesel 3.0, Z71 dual exhaust.
Original build price $55,720, remember this was done on the LTD tool.
New Refresh Price: $58,625.The LTD price didn’t include DFC, so taking that into account, our new Refresh went up $1270.00.
Which is fine, as the new Digital dashboard and info center is worth that to us alone…….
And it looks even more BadAss than the LTD model! Here’s our build:
Happy Trails

Participant1nonlymre, ah, an LTZ!
NICE.
Out 2008 Silverado was an LTZ, great truck. Really great. Saved our butts through a few really bad Pacific Northwest Winter Storms. The Wheels matching the lower front grille is really nice.
I am surprised that your build came in a grand lower than our RST.The whole industry is changing before our eyes due to the pandemic. I’m seeing television commercials from Ford openly asking customers to put in a “Custom Factory Order”. Never saw that before.
And online at least 3 Chevy dealers on their Main page advertising web page saying “Custom order your dream Chevy”.Great build! Congrats on getting it built!
Enjoy your weekend!

ParticipantOh that’s funny. I just hit your build and your right! I don’t know what I went to before, really strange.
So, for an LTZ, this makes sense. So you must be totally excited man! Just great! I’m actually having fun going through the process.
Never did a Factory before so very interesting with all the variables swirling around.Totally jazzed for you!

ParticipantWe’ll go a call last Tuesday from our Fleet Manager that we got an acceptance and now are waiting for a production date!
So one month short 1 day and we’re looking good.
I went to Chevrolet and put in my build and did a search for inventory with a 2000 mile radius!
Good news, I found 13 Sky Blue Metallic in transit, 5 of them the Duramax 3.0 Diesel. That means that they are currently building them with our color and engine, great news!So there’s hope for you guys who ordered the LM2 engine.
If you look here at the article posted 2 days ago about the 1500 Refresh showing up on dealers lots the second picture clearly shows a Silver Duramax Refresh on the lot! Excellent! So now we just wait.
Happy Spring!

ParticipantNice build guys!!!
I actually posted this past Saturday but this website is so technically pathetic that it didn’t make it onto the thread. I do email the web management last week that I couldn’t get into my profile, it just keeps on going to the main news page!
C’MON GUYS, ITS THE YEAR 2022. IF YOU CANNOT GET YOUR WEBSITE TO WORK PROPERLY THAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING BEING ON LINE?
Real question. Work out the bugs dudes.Ok, rant over.
So my Saturday post that didn’t happen was this, my Wife and I built the RST around February 7th, turning it into the dealer, Gamblin Motors around that time.
Our guy said he submitted it around the 10th of February.
So we waited for a week to get on the chat and get the status. Week 1 and week 2 were the same! “Order submitted by dealer and OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED by Chevrolet.
This past Saturday it changed for the weird! “Order Submitted by dealer but Not Officially accepted by Chevrolet. Please check with your dealer on the latest status.So. Here we are, in crazyville! It doesn’t surprise me and I expected things fowling up the process.
Now remember, our order was put in AND ACCEPTED before the ReFresh configuration tool went on line, and we got a price locked in with DFC clearly stated on our Workbench order. So here we are. No word from the dealer, we might be still 9th in line although it’s been 3 weeks. (I know, don’t laugh at us, we know some of you have been waiting an unGodly amount of time for movement on your orders, we’re with you!, but we’re new to this so just laugh at us ok?).
So not complaining here, just giving an update and fascinated by this crazy process.
Hope this post makes it.
