Is anyone underwhelmed by the new refreshed infotainment system? The app base in the play store is weak with no weather apps listed. For instance my wife’s Pacifica will notify of winter weather alerts and show the radar and such on her screen. I have not figured this out yet with the GM systems.

Underwhelmed for sure. It is frustrating. I wanted it to be amazing, but has been so disappointing. Software updates should smooth it out, but I am not giving up. Scouring the forums for fixes and continuing to tweak. GMC is limiting the avaliable apps. I assume they are trying to limit risk of distraction. I am adding an Android Ai box for more options.

For sure. It’s amazing that they limit the apps you can get. I let the onstar lapse as I’m not paying $14.99 a month just to have internet access.
But I have to find out if I can use my iPhone as an access point to the internet and get apps that way.
But yeah, it’s bs. So much potential and in reality junk. Even when I had internet for the first month, my 2 radio apps, iHeart and tuneIN were horrible, I was able to get 1 oldies local station on tuneIN but that was it, all the other stations my wife gets on her HD radio in her 2021, I couldn’t get one, even though all those stations have streams.
And no, $15 a month for just access is too much, $4.99 a month, ok,I’ll bite, but again if these apps can’t even get me access to my local stations then they’re totally worthless.

Funny thing?……my wifes Wi-Fi is still active even though she didn’t sign up for OnStar!! Lol……..

This whole system is a real problem. We were never informed that we only had 30 days of free use. Suddenly our navigation stopped working. We aren’t paying $14.99 a month just to have internet access. The sad thing is we have a 2017 Tahoe and a 2015 Camaro and the wifii works in both of them. Even our dealer wasn’t aware that you only had 30 days of free wifii. It’s ridiculous!

I was told by OnStar the Wi-Fi will remain active as long as you have data. Contrary to my dealer’s belief saying you have to have OnStar to use Wi-Fi, not so. No OnStar needed. If you sign up for their OnStar package, they will give you 60 more days free and at 59 days cancel it with no charge to you. The Wi-Fi keeps your google active along with many other options for much less money. $15 a month for 2GB and $25 a month for unlimited data. My promotion expires in Sept., and I plan to cancel the OnStar and just keep Wi-Fi active.
