I installed the myChevrolet app on an Android phone to use with my new ’16 Impala. The lock/unlock and other key-fob controls all work great–no problems.

It won’t, however, update the car’s information at all–tire pressures, mileage, estimated range remaining with current gas, etc. Its all locked in on the information that was current the moment the app was installed. There doesn’t seem to be any manual way to have it refresh. Anything I can do to get it to work or should I just forget those parts of the app?

@S_Kinison I think there are two things that could be going on:

      1. A simple glitch. If you log out and log back in, that should fix it.

      2. Your 6-month OnStar trial is over. When that happens, you still get another four and a half years of the key fob portion of the app for free (for a total of five years), but the other parts of the app are not part of the service unless you continue subscribing to a paid OnStar plan.

      Does that help?

I’ve had the car a few weeks, my OnStar subscription still has a few months to go.

I logged out and back in, and now half of the options are gone–no more key-fob controls, no vehicle data at all, no controls to send information to the navigation system. Its got my car selected (proper VIN and everything), but all the important stuff isn’t there anymore at all.

That doesn’t sound fun. And it also sounds like you are still well within the trial period.

At this point, I would just try uninstalling and tens galling the app. The remote and vehicle data features in the myChevrolet app are rather new, so it could be a glitch of some kind.

Uninstalled, reinstalled. No good. Key-fob, navigation and car info all gone. Still have Parked Location, owner’s manual, assistance, etc., none of the good stuff. Damn. Should have left it alone.

So I cleared the “app data” and “cache”, re-logged in and suddenly everything works. It will even update the car’s info when you scroll to the very top of the app’s list of options. The update function wasn’t there at all before, but is now. Thanks for your help.

      Glad it’s all sorted 🙂
