Rumors are flying again that GM is working on re-entering the medium duty commercial truck market. It has been a year since GMAuthority broke the story that a new medium was under development, and if true the new truck is probably still a few years away. Other rumors say a 4500/5500 cab and chassis version of the K2XX Silverado/Sierra will be here soon. I think it is safe to say something is coming, though the ‘official’ word from GM is nothing is planned.
i would love a silverado 4500 just as long as it still looks like a siverado just like the ram 4500 is just a ram3500 on steroids. but i think they will probably do this closer to the release date on the next gen sierra/silverado when ever that will be.
Yes hopefully GM medium duty will be available soon. If there will be 4500 Silverado, hopefully there will be option for SFA 4×4 and high end trim with a bed.
Any news or rumors? The HD’s are scheduled for introduction at the Texas State Fair, has there been any talk of larger commercial trucks? I can’t believe GM is ignoring such a big hole in their product line up, particularly considering the improving economy and Ford and Ram’s success in medium duty trucks.
