To make it short I had truck serviced at dealer and they said I had major oil leak and needed fixed soon. But after checking oil it was a half inch above full and I had never had a leak until then. So they put it on lift & had me look with them after I questioned the overfill & they redid the service and they again overfilled it so I’m going back today because they said overfilling wouldn’t cause a leak but from what I see it is a real possibility. Any input? Thank you in advance
Over fill on the oil can cause leakage. It can also blow the main seals in crankcase if pressure rises too much or too fast. Overfilling is never good, unless it’s just a very little bit. 1/2 inch above the full mark is too much.
