Hey there I have a 1998 Chevy blazer 160k miles on it I seem to have fluid leakage like a lot of fluid only while on an incline I want to say the fluid is red meaning transmission fluid
Parked facing up-hill or down, and how long?
While prked facing up
Where the speedo cable enters the transmission the plastic gear and the piece that hold it in place get worn. They have to fit snug together and still turn freely! They do both wear over time and no longer seal the fluid in! If they are both worn, replace both pieces and it should be ok.
You can check if it leaks there with a inspection mirror when it is happening. You can raise the front end and secure it with Jack stands safely before looking under!
The seal between the transfer case and transmission body is leaking.
The fluid is running out of the transmission into the transfer case then out the vent.
I replaced this seal on my brothers S10 blazer, my transmission go to guy told me what I would find when I had it apart he said the seal would be as hard as a rock and it would splinter like wood when I removed it.
He was right the job wasn’t that bad I did it on a dirt driveway 10 or more years ago.
