Are dealers allowed to charge an extra $10,000 markup above msrp on the Lyriq? I placed an order months ago and had the dealer call to tell me I was #1 on the list but needed to pay 10k over msrp.
I spoke with Cadillac about this yesterday. At the end of last year I went to my closest Cadillac dealer and told him I was interested in a Lyriq. A few months later I received a call from the dealer. He said he had 1 Lyriq coming in and I could purchase it for $10,000 over MSRP. So I told him where he could stick it. So now I am going to purchase a 2024 Lyriq. So I called GM and told them about this. Basically what they told me is that the dealers are independent agents and can sell the Lyriq for what ever price they want. So I told them I refuse to pay anything more than MSRP. So I called Cadillac marketing and explained this. So they contacted all the Cadillac dealerships for me that would sell me the Lyriq for MSRP (No dealer will give a discount at this time). So now I have 3 dealers near me that will sell me the Lyriq for the correct price.
Hope you have luck doing the same!
