My new ZL1 was manufactured on April 3rd. My dealer informed me that it showed bayed for 3 – weeks and then in quality control. Now it shows it in transport and will not arrive in Salt Lake until next week sometime. Why does it take GM so long to ship a car manufactured on April 3rd?
The short answer is that they are not making pizzas but cars (i.e. complicated machines with thousands of parts). 🙂
There is a bunch of reasons why a vehicle has been bayed, including quality control. That is one of the biggest reasons for a vehicle that’s been bayed for a while. In addition, there might be an issue with rail cars, getting a vehicle loaded onto the right one, etc.
