I am looking to install a 2″ front / 1-1.5″ rear leveling kit on my 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 4×4. My truck currently has the stock stamped steel upper control arms.
My question is, at what point is it recommended to replace the upper control arms when leveling/lifting the truck? Most of my research points towards 2.5″ or 3″ being the point where UCAs should be replaced but I haven’t found any concrete information. I also can’t seem to get a straight answer from various manufacturers… some say replace UCAs, some say it’s not necessary.
What are everyone’s thoughts? Thanks in advance!
