My 2010 SRX has been at dealership 5 weeks. And they’ve been waiting for a field engineer to come out over 3 weeks so far at the Grossinger City Complex in Lincoln Park, Dayton St. Chicago. No one seems to know when the engineer is coming out and have no control over if and when that will ever happen? I’m a little disappointed with Cadillac for this lack of customer service or communication from within it’s own company. I really like my 2010 SRX plus my previous 2005 SRX and this is the first time I’ve ever bought the same model a 2nd time and looking forward to the 2015 SRX (of the concept pictures I’ve seen, it’s going to be quite a radical design of sleekness).

I thought I had what seemed like a minor accident when a car pulled out of a parallel parking space as I was driving by, then the car hit my right passenger side front wheel bending it perpendicular to the car on May 13, 2012. The body shop got the repairs done in 3 weeks but then they couldn’t get the wheel to move after replacing it and the associated components. So they took it to the dealership on June12th 5 weeks ago. They replaced the transfer case but the wheel still binds when making turns. Brandon, any help tracking down the field engineer and getting him to Chicago would be greatly appreciated. I’m starting to think the delay is because there is no solution and my SRX with only 13K miles will have to be totalled out.

      Thanks, Keith

I apologize for the delay in my response, Keith. I also apologize the inconveniences you are experiencing with your vehicle. If you could please send me your first and last name, address, phone number, VIN, mileage and involved dealership, I will be glad to see if there are any available options to you.

Thanks Brandon! The field engineer finally made it out to the dealership and wouldn’t look at it because it had re-manufactured parts on it. So my insurance state farm authorized putting brand new factory components on the all wheel drive system and if that doesn’t work, then state farm is going to total out my 2010 SRX as a full loss.

@KEC11 Do you know which parts are being installed? Just curious…

It turns out even if even one wheel breaks, the transfer box and all 4 axles need to be replaced or the computers won’t talk to each other. So i basically got a whole new undercarriage. And the car performs perfectly as if it never happened. But my insurance co SFrm didn’t like the additional expense and dropped me so now I’m with Flo at progressive

As in if one rim/wheel breaks, or if one side of the diff begins to malfunction?

PS: Glad to hear all’s fixed up!

I guess it would be the side differential. Someone pulled out of a parking space and hit me directly in my front passenger wheel and bent it perpendicular to the car. They kept fixing that 1 right front axle and transfer box until they finally realized the whole system had to be replaced or the axles wouldn’t communicate to each other.

Ah that makes sense. My guess is that the axle/diff itself was damaged internally, so replacing a part of it wouldn’t repair it fully — therefore the reason for replacing the entire system.
