I just got a 2017 Impala, at night the MyLink screen is bright and annoying.
I have dialed down the dasboard lighting but I don’t like how dark the gage display is and the MyLink screen is still to bright.
Is it possible to black-out the screen and play the radio & cd player?
Yes, You can turn it off and you can also lower the screen brightness. Select your CD music first and start the playing. You can still use the steering wheel audio controls when MYLINK screen is off.
Here are the steps to turn the display off.
1) Press Home Icon (Picture of a house)
2) Select SETTINGS
3) Select DISPLAY
4) Select OFF – that will turn screen black (Blank) – To turn it back on – press anywhere on the screen.
TIPS: Set the display mode to AUTOMATIC and then MYLINK will auto adjust brightness. If that fails to satisfy then lower the brightness to you desired level using the plus and minus icon in the display brightness option.
If you have more questions on MYLINK contact the IT expert at your GM dealer for a show & tell session.
Thank you very much.
I don’t care for the digital look at all and the glare bothers me. I tried it and it works. I feel a little stupid for not figuring this out on my own.
Again, many thanks.
