Just received my new 2016 colorado Diesel, Fantastic truck, everything is great.
I am an avid audiobook fanatic I have been using ipod classics for along time. I plugged the ipod classic in and it was recognized right away. Problem comes when i start a book the reader goes very fast, i slowed audiobook setting down to the lowest and it still goes very fast. I tried 3 different Ipod classics and it did the same on all. If i plug the Ipod in with the headphone jack to the input jack of the truck it plays correctly . Please help
@DiveWork Congrats on the new truck!
It would make sense that the audiobook would play nicely using the headphone/3.5mm cable since it’s just a direct analog feed from the iPod. So, let me see if I can help in diagnosing the issue when attempting to play using the USB cable.
Some questions:
1. Does the same thing happen when you try to play a song? If you haven’t tried playing one, could you try?
2. Are you using an Apple-supplied USB cable? If not, try using an Apple cable, as some aftermarket cables have the tendency to change the way in which the iPod connects with the MyLink system.
Put music on IPOD classic, played fine, switched to a playlist of books, it worked great. Problem resolved . Thank-you
Awesome!
So, do you have to play music first for the audiobooks to play at normal speed, or can you just start playing an audiobook first (without playing music) and it plays fine?
you have to play music first then switch to a playlist with audio book, When i leave the truck before turning off ipod i switch it back to music so when it starts again i have no problems
