Hi all,
I am wondering if it is reasonable to switch the infotainment system in my 2022 Tahoe/Yukon from the Android Automotive OS to the old normal GM infotainment system, like in the 2021’s? There are many reasons I do not like the android automotive system, but most importantly it continually looks for Wi-Fi networks and also broadcasts its own, even when the OnStar system is entirely disabled. I find this to be a major security risk because my job involves entering an environment where there is a lot of unknown RF transmission. I know in the normal GM infotainment system, even the latest one , like in the 2022 Enclave, there is a switch to turn off the WiFi radio. Also, it is not that important but the android automotive system doesn’t allow apple CarPlay in full screen, where as the normal infotainment system does.
Thanks in advance.
