In-dash All Windows Down Switch being removed by GM?

I noticed that all 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s that are currently in transit to dealerships are no longer equipped with the in-dash all window down switch for LT trim and up. The extra fake in-dash fake switches are definitely an eye sore. Supply chain issue? Can anyone advise?

I ordered a 1500 LTZ back in April and it was built in May, I wonder if my truck will be equipped with it or not as I am still waiting for it.
Anyone having the same problem? My truck is being sitting at a distribution center in Viborillas, Mexico for months and GM can’t give me an update.

My LTZ was also built in May but in Ft. Wayne and I took delivery in June. My dash switch is in place and active , hopefully yours is because I know it would be unattractive to have a vacant slot knowing what was supposed to be there. Good luck.

pmanches54 – Wow! I am jealous. Only took GM a month to deliver your truck?

If you consider waiting 15 months lucky I guess in the end I was. Once it got built it took a week or so to hop on a train then a couple more weeks going from Roanoke to Selkirk, NY. From there my dealer has his own transport so after being off loaded from the train my dealer picked it up just a day or two later.

How did you determine this for “in-transit” vehicles? Or did you find recent arrivals on a lot and observe this?

IrwinMFletch – If you go to chevrolet.com website –> Inventory –> 2022 Silverado LTZ . It will give you a list of the trucks available in your area if you enter your zip code. Some of the trucks will be listed as ‘in-transit’; however, if you look at them, you will notice that they are missing the all window down switch.

Unfortunately I have not had a chance to stop by the dealership to confirm this but I hope I am wrong.

If yours was built in April it should have the switch.

My 1500 LTZ LM2 was ordered early June, built first week of August and delivered last week of August and it has the switch.

It’s a shame they are doing away with it. That’s a cool feature and one of my favorite features/buttons. And the auto start/stop on/off button.

Unless I’m mistaken, with the right option package the all windows down can also be initiated via the FOB? So hopefully only the interior button is going away. On my car (which only offers the feature via FOB) I use it most often when approaching the car and can’t think of anytime I needed to roll all windows down while inside the car.

I could be wrong but I don’t think it’s an option thing but more of a trim thing. I thought I remember seeing a video where the key fob function is only on the higher trim trucks.

My BIL’s Custom does not have the option and I haven’t tried it on mine yet since I just got the windows tinted and couldn’t roll them down for a few days.

It probably is in some trim package but it’s not individually listed on the build page for any trim that I looked at – and I chose all of those it would likely be a part of when building mine. Need to just peek into some trucks with lower trims next time I’m in the lot.

If only I could hack into some broadcast server and slip this video in to replace the “Chevy Truck Month” ad 🙂
