I can’t post pictures here I guess!? Anyway I have an old 1985 RV with a Chevy 350 small block and I’m pretty sure the transmission is a Turbo hydramatic TH350. Some indicators online by the pan design and number of bolts but the side placard isn’t coming up anywhere so I’m just wondering about the numbers. I know there’s ID numbers stamped on the tranny itself but I’m not near the vehicle right now. Here’s what the placard says on the passenger side.
Turbo hydra®-matic
F 071 A
85 F-A – 9835
Anyone who can give me a deeper understanding of what it means would be greatly appreciated.
I know the TH350 has a mechanical kick down cable and the TH400 has an electrical detent switch. Also the TH400 has a pan shaped almost like Texas and has 6 bolts in the tail housing, i think the TH350 is a 5 sided square pan and only has 4 bolts. Im not sure on the code though, i think if its a 350 the transmission code is supposed to have either a M33, M38, or M39, but correct me if im wrong.
