Every time I back up my boat my Park Assist is driving me crazy. I have gone into settings and selected Park Assist with tow bar and also tried off. When I restart the vehicle it reverts to with tow bar even when I try to save my user settings. The instant I try to back up with the trailer connected it beeps like crazy, I have to over ride the park assist every time. Anyone know how to permanently disable it or where the sounder is located so I can cut the power to it?

I would try to ask the customer service for that….. I think the only way is how you’re doing it.

I had the same problem with my GMC Sierra 2500HD 4×4. Pulled out the manual (God, finding anything in the one-inch thick manual is a pain) but finally found a button on the dash with an icon of what looks like “don’t pee in the forest” and that button turns off the parking assist alarm. The alarm is even triggered even if I am not hauling my trailer. It “sees” my pintle hitch and goes off. I hate the parking assist!

In the user settings, you have the option of turning park assist off. I have done it several times and tried saving it with my user settings, but it keeps going back to the default, “Park Assist With Towbar”. This is a joke because it beeps like crazy with my boat attached. I can turn it off in settings but as soon as I turn the vehicle off it resets. I have been using the Park Assist disable button until I can figure out a way to disable it permanently. Even driving to my place it’s always going off anytime you get to near any brush or branches.
