ParticipantI ordered a 3500 silverado (order #QRXGZC from Indiana). Was told by dealership that it was to be transported from Flint Michigan on Friday (9/12/12). Flint is 350 mile north of here. It’s now Saturday and dealership says they usually are called before “driver” delivers truck, but haven’t heard anything yet. Now it don’t take 48 hours to drive 350 miles. My question is-Do they drive vehicle or railway, or transport truck?

ParticipantYou mean to say it left on Friday Dec 7th? The 9th was yesterday, Sunday.
350 miles, its probably coming by truck but that truck might not be going directly to your dealer. He could have up to 8 more vehicles to deliver at 8 different dealers. So while its 350 miles, the truck might drive up to 1,000 or more miles before he drops off your vehicle. I know one of my vehicles had about 300 miles from the rail ramp (Janesville, WI) to the dealer in Upper Michigan. The dealer ran a search and found it departed the rail yard by truck on Sunday but the truck did not arrive at my dealer till Thursday and according to my saleman was the last car on the transport. Nothing to stop the truck driver from deciding he’s driven enough miles today and parking for the night.
The driver is in control, he does not work for GM.

ParticipantZ15, Sorry for confussion on date, but thanks for info. It’s just that I never seen a dually on a transport truck.
GM customer service, I’m really confussed now, dealer says he was notified on Friday it was to be transported on Friday 12/7/12. You tell me it’s bayed. Does anyone really know what’s going on? -

ParticipantI’ve seen dually’s get transported by a truck, usually at the very back since they won’t be able to drive them further in.

Participantsam,
The dealership should know more specific information in regards to timing. We really do apologize for the delay and we definitely appreciate your patience. Please let us know what your dealership has to say.

ParticipantZ15, That was really neat. I told my wife I wished we could have drove up to Flint and watch our truck being built and the drive it home. Since that is impossible this was the next best thing. Thanks again!!
