And the prize for the worst thread title in the world goes to (drumroll plz) Vic!

Honesty, it’s very long: “I think SLP or Chevrolet(if serious) needs to work on this Cruze in order to caught up with aussies”

In reality, GM should just do a Cruze Z spec. Very few people want the SLP stuff. It’s ugly and tasteless and cheap.

Sorry I can’t think of any better titles do if y’all got better ones then go for it but I just honestly think that slp should make one though

As much as I want a Chevy with these specs, there is no reason for Chevy to not make one itself. There’s also no reason that Ford, Honda, Dodge, and Nissan can have hotted-up compacts, and for the largest automaker in the world can’t. The market for an SLP vehicle of this type would be very, very limited.

wait would SE-R spec V count as Hi-Po? and also sorry next time I’m just gonna say “source” then

It’s cool, it’s white, it’s over priced. How about a 202hp 2.5L … Not a high perforamce CRUZE, just a decently powered daily driver. Yet with a 2.0L turbo it would soothe the soul of those wanting a hipo Cruze. A Wagon would be nice along with a Coupe, and maybe a hatch all with power options. Damn what a concept………….

@Vic1212 yes, the SE-R Spec V counts. Another one that Ieft off the list is Mazda (MS3) and VW (GLI, Golf R, GTI, Beetle Turbo).

But heck, why can’t the world’s biggest and baddest automaker (GM) do what a competitor gunning for its spot does to most of its profit line (VW)?

And also I don’t think there’s a lot of people buy the spec v nor does it sell like hot cakes like the rest of the sentra models

It doesn’t have to sell many units, nor is it mean to.

The purpose of a high-performance model is usually two-fold:
      1. To get people in the door attracted to the hotted-up version, and
      2. To serve the market for the vehicles

All of the manufacturers above understand this… GM thinks it’s different.

What I meant is kind of like if people talk about the SE-R spec V it’s like wow that car still existed like it’s kinda forgotten it.

Either way, there are still Ford, VW, Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi.
