I don’t see many gen 4 (2007-2013) Sierras for sale with over 400,000km (250,000 miles). Looking to buy one but it seems like the 5.3 are standard with the AFM??? And not one for sale has over 400000kms… Are they just being kept because how reliable they are? Or is it because the motors just die and people would rather collect hail damage money from insurance? I have a gen III (2000) 5.3 and the motor crapped out at 377xxxkms because it was swamped. I found about 2 quarts of mud at the bottom of the pan., So needless to say that a bearing spun in the bottom end… But I know with the right upkeep that my motor will do 500,000 miles no problem. I want a newer vehicle with better options than my trusty rusty… But if I gotta do a motor job every 100,000kms I might just keep my rusty… Anyone got over 400,000kms on a original motor with the 5.3 gen 4 model?
