Check engine light on, starts to flash after 80 miles. Also it starts bogging out when u want it to get up and go. It shut down on me several times, but twice it’s shut down and car starts shaking like it wants to turn on and a really bad smell just for a few minutes. Don’t know what to do anymore???!?! Helppp

This happened to me in a 2000 Malibu. The flashing “Check Engine” light usually shows with a “Misfire” code, meaning the system sensor feed back logic is that one or more cylinders are not firing. My mechanic (my uncle) convinced me to start with most basic things first. For a cylinder to ignite, It needs spark, air, and fuel. He changed the spark plugs (very hard to do on GM V6 front wheel drives) and walah!… running smooth.

I found out why it was bogging out and acting up we changed the camshaft sensor, oil gauge, and my ignition seems to run alot better doesn’t bog out. Now idk why when I’m driving down the road my service stabilitrak, service tire monitor. I don’t understand why it runs good just loses potential when those 3 lights show up anybody have some issues like this or know of some one that fixed there problem?! Let me know please and thank you motor is different one not stock it’s cammed and also has a rebuilt tranny, motor and tranny have about 15,000 miles just can’t seem to figure it out
