I continue to own a 2008 Colorado which displays the persistent “I will start but later please” issue common with the pass lock/pass key system. Eventually the system resets and recognizes the key, but I often wait 2 cycles (20 minutes) for this to happen. I am considering the installation of a system “confuser” from New Rockies which apparently talks to the BCM and says things are cool, go ahead and start…….but I am hesitant to go with this aftermarket change-although it is much cheaper than new parts apparently, IF they are still available.
I know this issue impacts a LOT of older GM cars… Is there a recognized fix available??
check all your ground connections under the hood. my grandsons Colorado had this problem and he found a bad ground under the hood in the engine compartment and it seems to have fixed the problem..
Wouldn’t a recognized fix be have your dealer replace all defective components?
Impala has a cheap passlock fix.
