With today’s technology, it is very disappointing to see GM go backwards regarding production status. After all these years I get to reward myself by ordering a ZL1. How ironic it is that my order coincides with the cancelation of GM production status for customers.
I am very disappointed.

I don’t know when you ordered your ZL1, but I ordered a Bolt EUV last January and online production status was gone then. I had to sit through a canceled order and missed out on a promised dealer order after that, not knowing the first was canceled and the second had been completed, only to be sold in transit to someone else. I finally took delivery in November of another dealer order, but it was a “believe it when see it” experience. In short, you’re not alone, but it didn’t coincide with your order…unless it was over a year ago.

I placed an order for a Blazer back in August. I was told as the 6 cyl optional engine was being held at the time for vehicles that only came with that engine. That was fine, I had time to wait.
In November I was told they quit making the color I ordered, so I changed the model to one that only came in a 6 cyl and a different color. Build date was set to 12/12/2022.
As of 1/12/2023 it is still in build date 12/12/2022 status.
Now apparently the plant it’s being built at is going through remodel to produce the new EVs and is closed until 1/30/2023, and the application which manages the builds was down until 1/9/2023, and also apparently GM has some long holiday stretches where things don’t get built.
So there’s a chance my vehicle was built and in transport and the status just wasn’t updated yet. But who knows…someone is looking into it.
