I would like the reason why you cant go over 99 mph. Its pretty embarrassing when you have a 65,000 dollar Sierra Denali and you get passed by a minivan. I know safety is a concern, but the consumer should at least have the option to not have this governor; especially as much as we pay for these trucks.
That’s not just with GMC Sierra, all of its competitors do limit the top speeds in the same way. This Carindigo performance review of Sierra 1500 (https://www.carindigo.com/gmc/sierra-1500/performance) shows GMC is still faster from 0-60. yeah, it gets frustrating but if you think the pickups are not meant to be racing but tow or haul.
