Very apparent by looking through the posts and mainly the LACK of posts in regards to tracking vehicle orders that this forum is complete garbage and GM does nothing with it. No tracking or even any responses. Don’t waste your time.

from the bottom of this page:
GM Authority is a product of Motrolix LLC and is not sponsored, owned, or in any other way condoned by General Motors Company, its brands, subsidiaries, or partners.
The people that are responsible for this page do that tracking as courtesy service but in the past they have not always had access to the information.

You can go to Chevrolet Facebook page and scroll down until you see a message icon. Click to open to start a conversation. This is the only way to get updated info.

Does anyone know how long after its accepted that it’s assigned a VIN?

The vehicle must be produced before the VIN can be assigned. This is usually after they notify you have a TPW (target production week) that may end up several TPWs if you are unlucky. Once they make it, and it is being QA’ed (Quality Assurance), your dealer can get the VIN. If your dealer is a total smuck like most here have encountered, you are at the mercy of the chat message at GMC.com (lower right hand corner pop-up) after, repeat AFTER you ask for an advisor. You must have the order number for the advisor to help you. If the vehicle is already made, an experienced advisor can give you the VIN. The scary ones new on the job will just read a canned script telling you to go to the dealer to get the information. Therein the catch 22 GM is ignoring. The dealer doesn’t have a clue nor the resources to keep you properly informed about what is going on at GMC or the Logistics company which moves the vehicles………
