Re: Bose surround sound option (DSP Mode, Bose Centerpoint Surrouind Sound)\, RPO UQA),

Can anyone offer help with this most disturbing “software update” my 2018 Acadia received at the local GMC dealer.

The battery failed while under warranty so I took it to the GMC dealer who replaced the battery (under warranty) and also did a software update which they did not tell me about and I did not authorize. When I got the car back I noticed right away the stereo did not sound right. I sounds like mono now. After going through the settings I discovered that the “centerpoint” option on the radio was missing. This is Boses’s surround sound option. RPO is UQA. The window sticker confirms the vehicle did come with this option and it was at extra cost as part of the premium sound package. This is an Acadia Denali with every option available except the suspension option. I purchased the vehicle new. It is still under warranty but not for much longer.

The dealer confirms that the centerpoint option was “accidently” removed as part of the software update. They say it is not their fault and there is nothing that can be done to correct it. I just have to get used to a premium stereo system that sounds like mono now.

It’s pretty disturbing that GM can do this kind of thing behind the customers backs.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

      KA
