Hey guys — Alex here with a quick bulletin.
Over the last 24 hours, GM Authority has experienced a significant amount of traffic… so much, in fact, that we weren’t ready for it. As you may have noticed, this has caused GM Authority to become very slow, and — in a few unique cases — inaccessible to you. This isn’t the first time this has happened, either; and while we can make a whole bunch of excuses — it’s not the kind of experience we strive to provide you. And for that, I’m truly sorry.
Today, GM Authority systems gurus did their best to weather the storm with the system resources we had at our disposal during the day; to prevent this from happening again, we will continue to make improvements to GM Authority over the next few days. In fact, we’ve already taken steps that have improved the overall speed and capacity of the site — with several more changes coming in the next month.
At the end of the day (and what a day it was, Silverado and Sierra announcements and all), I want to take this chance to thank every single one of you for sticking with us during this time, and I can’t wait to show you what we have planned for the future as it relates to GMA.
Thanks again for your patience,
Alex

Folks — it has been several months, and I wanted to provide the following updates on this topic.
1. Infrastructure Updates
We have significantly improved our infrastructure to handle high amount of traffic. Going forward, we will continue to improve our technical resources, with another upgrade scheduled to take place at the end of October 2013. The benefit to you is improved page load times, even during periods of extremely high traffic.2. Website Redesign
We have also completely redesigned all of GM Authority from the ground up. The code is more efficient, the interface is more user friendly, and we now have a solid base on which to build well into the future. The benefit to you is improved page load times and a better experience.More information about the redesigned GM Authority is available here:
