ParticipantI have a 2013 Buick Lacrosse/eassist 450 miles on it. The gas gauge never goes to full when I fill it. The dealer
says they checked everything they could and found nothing wrong. This doesnt sound right to me. Any
comments for me to ponder. -

Participantrenmur605, I hope this problem has been solved for you by now, but if not, there are three possible causes for this problem. 1. the gas tank sending unit is not operating properly and will require replacement. 2. the dash gauge itself is not operating properly and will require replacement. 3. you are not getting the tank full. The way to test 3. is to fill the tank until it runs out the filler tube, CAREFULLY! 1. & 2. require a mechanic that knows what he is doing by diagnosing electrical problems. My Jeep has the same problem and I have just lived with it for all these years. It gets to the 3/4 full mark and stops. If I had bought the Jeep new I would have made them fix it. My testing shows I have a bad sending unit, but dropping the gas tank to replace the sending unit it is more work than I want to do, hence, I just live with it.

ParticipantVetteDriver,Thank you for the reply. They replaced the sending unit and no change. What the mechanic
determined is, when I fill up and it clicks off, to pull the nozzle back about an inch or so and click again. We tried that and it showed full.
Crazy but it works. My next trip Im going to try some high country and see if the 2.4 will pull it up to the top. -

ParticipantI have a 2012 Buick LaCrosse with Eassist and the same fuel gauge issue. When I fill up the tank the meter sets up to left of full line. Looks like it is only 90% full. I talked to my salesman today and he said he hadn’t heard of this being an issue. So I Googled it and tah dah there your post was. I now have 27,000 miles on the car and love it otherwise.

ParticipantI too have a new 2013 LaCrosse eAssist. new 08/7/13. The gas gauge goes to a speck under 7/8 full. I even mentioned it to the salesman as we sat in my vehicle at delivery and he swore he topped it off. I drove another 26 miles and topped it off myself , being extra cautious to fill in every drop I could get without it overflowing and the gauge still says just under 7/8 full. I called the service tech at the dealer and he said he was aware as others had the same issue but only on eAssist models. He said no work could be done until enough people compliam to GM and they issue a recall or TSB. I have topped off my tank 7 different times and now have 1450 miles on it and still same issue. Also, the miles remaining until empty gives false info. Two days ago, it said 121 miles until empty and I drove it 117 miles home and still had 59 miles to empty. This morning it said 59 miles to empty and I drove 24 miles to work and about 3 ,miles from work it said 61 miles to empty. Another mile later the message changed to “low fuel”. I stopped and fueld up, nursiing every drop I could into it and it only took 12.231 gal. and still only showed less than 7/8 of a tank. Thus I received a “low Fuel” message with at least 3.6 gals remaining it its specs of 15.8 gal tank is correct. Work is 24 miles each way; about 16 on highway, 8 on non highway and I have only received 24.37 miles per gal for the first 1450 miles overall. For a carf that stickered out over 37K, I am dissapointed that I have a fuel gauge I cannot count on. I also hate not having an interior trunk release button. I’ll try the pull the nozzel out an inch methos try again, but it has not worked for me yet. I sure hope Buick gets a fix for this . One last thing, I wear glasses for reading but not for driving. I sure wish GM had made the clock muerals alittle larger on the LCD display. It is lousy having to put on glasses to read the time when driving your car. It would be better if I could convert it over to the HUD display on the windsheild. that would be great!

ParticipantI bought a 2013 Buick Lacrosse eAssist in November 2013. I am having the same issue with the fuel gauge not going to full. It is very frustrating and does not provide the gas mileage that Buick promised with the eAssist model. More frustrating is that fact that this has been a known problem to Buick but the dealership does not mention it when you are purchasing the car.
What needs to be heard by Buick / GM to get this problem fixed? I have contacted Customer Care only to be told “okay” and answer a series of meaningless questions.
Buick, FIX IT ALREADY. Unlike your fuel gauge, I am having to make FULL car payments each month.

ParticipantJust saw on the news that GM has issued a recall for 2014 SUV’s because of inaccurate fuel gauge readings.
What about those of us that have been complaining about the 2013 Lacrosse with e-assist ? My fuel gauge
still does not read correctly, despite changing the fuel sensor.
