Does anyone know if there is a new version of the Epsilon or any other information (design location, etc.)for some of the vehicles in that family? (i.e. Buick Regal E2SB 2.0L; Chevy Impala E2LC 2.5L;–both Ecotec L850’s; or even Chevy Malibu E2SC….all with production starting in 2016/2017….
@motownjoe Welcome to GM Authority!
All we know so far is that the next-gen Epsilon is in development. However, I’d think that said development has a chance of being halted/modified given the recent announcement of the alliance with Peugeot — as GM Europe and Peugeot will focus on collaborating on compact and midsized vehicles. So anything that’s been worked on up to this point may be up for a change or two.
thanks Alex! Following up on that…the specific (Next-Gen) Delta programs are the D2XX (Opel homeroom) and D2UX (Warren, MI homeroom), and for Epsilon it’s the E2XX. Great point about Peugeot. I’m not certain if it means anything, but does GM use the letter “X” in program codes as a placeholder for a “to-be-named” (in the case of D2UX) fourth character besides “X”. I ask because I know there are a handful of programs defined for Next-Gen Delta as D2U”Letter besides X”, specifically, D2UC, D2UG, etc….or maybe the “X” or “X’s” stay that way.
@motownjoe Not to resurrect an old thread, but now that we finally know that the next-gen Cruze will be on the D2XX program/platform, just wanted to explore the possibilities of the platform.
It would seem that we’ll see this off the D2 program:
Chevy Cruze (and variants)
Chevy Equinox
GMC Terrain
Opel Astra (and variants)
Opel Antara
Buick Verano (and variants)
Buick CUV?
Anything I’ve missed?
