Production Status of the Ft. Wayne plant as idle, is it?
Ft Wayne was intended to restart after the week of the 4th. However I am told no trucks are being delivered out of there, only stockpiling them waiting on chips among other items. I know a little bit ago even foam for the seats were an issue as were other items due to shortage of products made with petroleum additives. Hopefully they get the line moving again and start delivering these trucks. It seemed the dam broke a little bit back in June but has since stopped up again. I was told last week the dealers were going to start getting orders of Equinox’s but without inner fender liners so there was to be a no sale hold put on them waiting for parts. GM is dumping partial builds into the dealers lots and making them responsible for completion whenever. How long before they start this practice with partial built trucks. Dealers are also concerned GM will eventually dump untold amounts of 21 and 22 trucks on them to figure out how to sell a one and two year old vehicle as a new one. Unheard of.
Has the status changed? It is still showing as idle.
Ft Wayne shows shut down from July 11th till Oct. 11th. Oshawa and Mexico is showing full capacity as is HD line in Flint.
