      Dear mister Piszar,

I really hope you will take the time to read my email and that you won’t pass it to next person under you (I guess it would be Diana , who is a very nice person).

My name is Sonia Grenon. I came from a small place called Chicoutimi (that explain my bad English). There cars are a religion and, in my family, we are GM. So if i don’t want to be the black sheep , i have to drive a Chevy.
I also am a mother and a teacher. I value a lot the Ev car because of the children . I was very proud to say that GM were the first to promote electric cars at an affordable price.

      Here is my story.
      In 2018 i bought a Bolt ev.
For months, i had to respect certains limits because of the battery problems. Those limitations were boring but at least i didn’t have to use the car for work because during the Covid, i had to teach from home.
In August 2021, i decided to change the Bolt 2019 for the Bolt 2022 because i was returning to school. I didn’t want to take the risk to charge the car at school and as it was possible to charge during night in my garage, it was not possible to continue to wait anymore.
So August 19, i bought a Bolt EUV at my nearest dealership. I was lucky to find one already in the parking lot. So i négociateur the price and wasn’t happy with the amount the dealer offered to me. So i called to GM service center to asl for a better price.
Diana accepted to give me , as GM do for some EV car owner who has recalled car, to offer me a better solution. But August 20, the recall for Bolt EUV was started. I asked if it was possible to have the EUV since ii put the deposit on it August 19, but it wasn’t.
As the school was beginning in september, i waited to see the news. I read that GM will have a software in 30 or 60 days. So i decided to wait.
Then i had to deal the charges limitations to deal and the fact that if i drive my 2019 beyond the mileage we agreed , the amount for the buy back that we agreed on would not be the same.
As i have to drive more the 190 km a day when i work, it wasn’t possible to use the 2019. So one day i took my car, and the other day i took my partner car (and i wasn’t very confortable with that.)

At a time i asked Diana if the buy back will agree to just take back my car . With the money i thought i would buy a used car . Diana told me that this offer was only if i give the 2019 in exchange for the 2022. And i understood it was the discussion we had , but the problem was that GM Wasn’t able to deliver the EUV.
So i was upset then, because i still have to depend on other person car to go to work one day on two. But i didn’t have the choice anyway. So i waited telling to myself that, at least, i will get the Bolt EUV that tried at my Dear (and that was waiting for me for 3 months)
Finally, i got a message telling that the battery for the Bolt 2019 was available for the dealership to change it.
First thing i though was that i would ask the Dealer to put the new battery in the 2022 . I learned that it wasn’t possible because the battery was made for a certain VIN. (Of course i thought that if someone can change the vin number of the battery in a 2019, i guess it could be possible to change the vin number of a battery that was still in a box, but i learned that it wasn’t possible. ) I was a little more upset because that it meant that i would have to put some winter tires on the 2019, go to the garage for the battery change for the 2019, then wait until the EUV 2022 that is in the parking lot, will be ok to be delivered. Take oof the winter tires of the 2019, put back the 4 season tires and put the winter tires on the 2022. And, few weeks (months?) later, i will have to return for another battery change for the 2022.
Then , Diana told me that she may not buyback the bolt 2019 because now there was a solution for it and it will be fixed at the end of November.

All that time , i was very patient and very polite (you can ask Diana), And i still am a very comprehensive person. But you would agree with me mister Piszar, that the situation is upsetting.

I understand that GM may have to choose which vehicle to priories or not. But i will politely remember you that i drove a 2019 forwhich was much unsafe then the 2022 that was waiting for me while GM made those decision.

So now mister Piszar, i ask you to allow my dealer to put the 2019 battery in the 2022 that i bought August 19 OR to install the software that is suppose to be installed a little later this year. In that way.

I know you have the power to allow it and i understand that it would be exceptional. But i think that it would be fair to do it.

      Sonia Grenon
