My Encore GX just started this problem, The Adaptive Cruise suddenly disengages and a warning was displayed on the info screen on the dash, “adaptive cruise temporarily unavailable”. Since then the cruise will not work and the brake assist also doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve cleaned the cameras that I know of, windshield, side mirrors and rear under the spoiler. I ran through a carwash, but no change. I’ve read on the GM Authority site that there is a known problem with the brake pedal sensor that may be the problem, but was wondering if anyone else has had this happen?
Why not take it to your dealer
I had this issue early on with my LTZ Silverado and the dealer simply recalibrated the cameras. Fixed problem and 20K miles later no further issues.
