Participant5 weeks ago I put money down and placed an order for a 2016 Silverado Crew Cab Short Bed. The main options I ordered were a 6.2L motor, 3.42 gears, and Autumn Bronze Metallic color. This combination did not exist in inventory and had to be factory ordered. This order was accepted by GM. I was expecting a new truck within 1-3 weeks from today’s date. My old truck has been sold privately in anticipation of the new truck.
Today (5 weeks after placing the order), GM notified my dealer that they rejected my order because they had capped production (at 3%) of the color Autumn Bronze Metallic with a 6.2. GM waits 5 weeks to reject an accepted order that I put money down on? Really? By the way, my dealer can still build and place this order in their system. I can also build it on Chevrolet.com using the build your vehicle tool.
I have changed the exterior (deep ocean blue) and interior color of my order (which is not what I wanted in the first place) and have told my dealer to re-submit the order. I will wait to see if GM accepts this order and actually builds it and also what my new projected delivery date is. My dealer knows I am pissed and I have also filed a complaint with GM. GM – I am disappointed in you. I have been a loyal customer my entire life (7 Chevrolets including a Camaro, 2 Blazers, Tahoe, Silverado, and 2 corvettes (currently a 2013 corvette convertible). This is not how you treat customers. You don’t change the rules in the middle of a ball game. You don’t wait 5 weeks to reject an accepted order.

ParticipantI bought a 2014 silverado in June last year and was very excited. That didn’t last very long. My transmission started making a clunking sound,my shocks started making a scraping sound going over small dips in the road, My front end has a loud popping noise when I turn while backing up and now it does it every time I drive it. I took it to the dealer for everyone of these issues and of course they said they couldnt find anything wrong. My a/c doesn’t blow cold air anymore so I looked at the ac lines and found a Crack in the discharge line from the compressor to the condensor and took it to the dealership and showed them the cracked line which should have been covered under my platinum warranty. Yeah whatever. They charged me an 89.95 diagnostic fee that I had to pay even after I showed them the cracked line. So pissed off. Then they told me that it would cost me 589.00 if I wanted it fixed. You buy a new vehicle to get away from problems but not these days. If you want a problem just buy a new chevy. I am furious and totally disgusted. My 97 chevy c1500 with 327000 miles still has an air conditioner that works after 19 years and I still drive it to work in the oilfield 214 miles every day on my oil rout.
