Hey y’all,
So my wife and I have had a RST Suburban with the Duramax on order since August of last year.
I was “calm” about it for 4 months. Got a “talked down” by the dealer on January but now I’m getting a little aggravated about it.
I drove past the dealer a month ago and saw 2 suburbans on the lot, for sale, a majority of the same options we ordered but WITHOUT the diesel.
I called the dealer said hey, what’s going on?, Where are we at in line?, Etc. Etc. He said our allocation is next.
Fast-forward to yesterday. We drove past the dealer, I had zero intention of pulling in there until I saw 4 suburbans on the lot, for sale, not sold, brand new. Again, all without the diesel.
Is the diesel suburban just not available?
Clearly they can get suburbans, RST’s, High Country’s, Premier’s, LS’s between both times driving by I’ve seen all four of those models. With an additional 2 “in transit” according to their website.
I just don’t get it anymore. The dealer says they can’t identify what the “problem” is with our build and why it hasn’t been pulled yet.
Any and all information regarding this topic will ease my aggravation.
Thanks!

Yeah, very understandable sentiments.
From what I know, the LM2 diesel was constrained over the past few months, if not longer. However, it has become unconstrained starting in March.
Do you know if your dealer has placed the order for your unit? If so, they should have given you an order number.

Unfortunately no, we don’t have an order number because they haven’t gotten the allocation, for a diesel Suburban (my assumption) to be built.
Last time I talked to him, he said they need the allocation for one to come in, then they can verify our build and send it through. Then we get an order number.
Unless he’s completely wrong.. who knows. 😒😑
