Has anybody heard if and when there will be a diesel option offered in the 1500 series pickups? I am currently shopping for a 1/2 ton pickup and I am a diesel fanatic. So far it looks like my choices are the Ram 1/2 ton or stepping up to a 3/4 ton, which I really don’t need. I am willing to wait if I knew one would be offered soon.
Nothing. They claim they will have a diesel engine in the Canyon/Colorado but not in the 1500 series trucks. They have calculated the engine would not be worth the engineering costs I presume. Years back when they had the engine option in the 1500’s the sales were slow.
There has been talk by some GM insiders, that the 4.5 diesel is being dusted off and brought up to spec. I guess will have to wait and see for 2016 if it will be offered in the 1500 and SUVs.
There’s GM na let’s not offer a diesel in a 1500 but yet let’s offer one in a mid size truck. Screw mid sized trucks there ugly useless how many mid size trucks do you see not very many but its worth more time to put diesel in a mid size hmm but every were you look theres a gm 1500 don’t make any sence to me
