I own 2009 equinox with the 3.4 l engine and over the last 1 1/2 years the battery has died about ten times for no apparent reason, nothing has been left on that would drain the battery. I has only happened during the winter months but not the coldest days. I can drive it one day and 6-8 hours later the battery is dead. The battery has been load tested fine and will work fine for months and then BAM dead. I have contacted my local dealership and they told me a random problem like this could be impossible to find. 🙁 PLEASE HELP

@candoo126 Welcome to GM Authority!
Has your dealer run diagnostics on the car, and is it still under (an extended?) warranty? Perhaps @GM_Customer_Svc can chime in to help out here 🙂

Starter motor works fine, and no warranty but the GM dealer has offered no help because it does not happen often enough to leave it with them to figure out.

Interesting… come to think of it, I had a friend with a Saturn Aura (I think it was a 2008 or 2009). It had the same problem. Just wouldn’t start on cold days, and needed to be jumped.
Maybe Brandon from @GM_Customer_Svc can help out…

Not sure if this pertains to your model year
Equinox, Terrain — Engine no crank/no start due to discharged battery/parasitic current draw.
If a 70ma battery draw is found, install the new HVAC system new service calibration

We apologize for the frustrations that you are currently experiencing. Please keep in mind; no one knows the idiosyncrasies of your car better than you. It’s for this reason I highly recommend that you consider personally road testing your vehicle with the Service Manager so you can demonstrate the concern you are experiencing. This way, before anyone exits the car, it is perfectly clear what you are referring to. The Service Manager then can provide you with his/her recommendation regarding the concern. Please let us know what you decide to do.
