I have a 97 chevy 1500 and it keeps stalling when driving. At first I figured it was the fuel filter so I changed it and it worked fine for a few days. Then it continued again and I cant figure out why. If you let it sit for a few it will start up again but wont make it far before dying again. Any ideas on why?
After you installed the fuel filter did you check the fuel filter after it stalled again?
If you did not, check the filter , if its clogged or it hard to pass air through it, you might have trash in your fuel tank. If the filter is good and your trucks dies while running it could be the fuel pump relay or ignition relay. Try bypassing the fuel pump relay first and see what it does. If it keeps doing the same thing bypass the ignition relay.
Your problem could be a $15 relay.
Good luck
