Well what does everyone think about the two new concepts? Which do you you like more? GM says they are waiting to hear what people think about the two concepts and that will influence whether to build them or not. In my opinion, they are both great looking. I like the TRU the most though and I would definitely buy one if they came out.

I like both, but I’d get the CODE 130R myself. For starters, I like the way it looks; not drawing any 1 series comparisons, I just like the design. The TRU is much sleeker, but I like the bold, square lines of the CODE.

Also, the CODE is rear-wheel drive. RWD > FWD any day.

I agree, RWD all day. I like the looks of the CODE the more I see of it, I don’t know which I’d pick if I had a choice. The RWD on the CODE is a big plus. They both look bad ass and I hope they keep the near $20,000 price tag if they are put into production. I have high hopes they will both be produced but if both are not possible, atleast one of them.

I think both designs are a hit. The 130 would be some great competition for the Miata, FT86, MiniCoopers, etc, especially if its made tuner friendly.

Personally, I like the 140, but I would want it as a mid-engined two seater. I drive over 500 miles a week commuting to work and would love to have a little mid-engined machine to spice up the drive. I’ve always loved the idea of hearing the engine noise talking seductively in your ear just behind you. The shape of the 140 screams mid-engined to me. As early as they are in the design of these, it seems entirely feasible. *Cough*Fiero*Cough* 😉

I own an LT1 Camaro as a hobby. Build the Code 130R, but give it a twin-turbo 2.0litre option and a fiberglass body/nice seats from the factory (like my Camaro)……. and I would buy one! Still keeping the Camaro though. B-)

Nice! My hope is for the 130R to be built, but the Camaro to remain part of the lineup, as well. Perhaps the 130R would result in the Camaro to V8s only, since the 130R would outperform the V6-powered Camaros… or maybe not.

hey just thought of a retro name for the code. ready……….vega. think about it a small rear drive two door car powered buy a v8 and looking like a muscle car. i know it’s not the most compelling chevy name but it fits with the concept of the code quite nicely.

chevtothemax: both would be outstanding. Oh and how about NOVA ?

Sorry chevmax, ‘Vega’ is a damaged name.

Even if the people who the 130 is marketed towards were born long after the last Vega left the factory, the nameplate’s perma-stained history is only a quick google search away.

Still, a second gen Vega could be an attempt to re-write the history books, and perhaps salvage the Vega name.

I’m a fan of the idea of a new, awesome name. Like the Cruze…

okay but not code that name isn’t inspiring enough to be on this car. i do like the name cruze, and the name sonic, but what would they call this?

I’m fairly certain CODE is just that — a code name, and not something that’s ever meant to grace the backside of a production vehicle…

The 140S — if produced — is most likely going to wear the Cruze nameplate, while the 130R will probably get a new name — if it doesn’t end up becoming the next-gen Camaro.

it is the tru. GM either originally designed it as a pontiac or they were going to show both. either way not the happiest with them. on the site i gt it yu could see the pontiac twin grille, and i gotta say it looks pretty natural.

Yea when you think about it the tru looks just like a Pontiac and would have made a great next gen g5.

yes good bye pontiac. but anyways i wish they would have at least changed the design some so that it wasn’t a rebadge of a still-born. but either way i want it now.
