Please help. I searched and searched, but I have not found instructions. I have 2000 GMC Sierra 2WD 4.8 Auto Extended Cab. I would like to know the position of the carrier bearing bolts in the mounting holes. The holes are oval and about an inch long.
I installed pushing carrier bearing bolts towards transmission, but I later was wondering if I installed too tight.
Please let me know why the holes are oval or elongated and how to position the carrier bearing bolts in the holes.
should I just slide shaft forward in transmission and tighten carrier bearing in the resting position? I noticed when looking at that, the bolt on one side was more forward than the other.
i aligned the bolts to the same distance in holes closer to transmission end.
