ParticipantI own a Cadillac cts-v and I have broke it in mile wise. Tryed few times on deserted highway out in the country. I reached 145 mph then 162 mph at 5800 rpms. IT feels like it could keep going well past 190 mph but have not got the nerve to try it yet. But I”m itching to.
I had a full tank of gas, after those 2 runs I had about half a tank of 94 oct.
Just wondering if any one might have thoughts on if I should go for it or not. ( 162 mph was very fast ) -

KeymasterI’m pretty sure the CTV-V tops out at 198 MPH. But I would only try that on a closed track or on the salt flats . Have fun and be careful out there, and congrats on the V!

ParticipantIn my V3 CTS-V (2018 MY) I have reached 321 kp/h or 199.38 in funny money somewhere in Germany. On my 2013 CTS-V the top speed is 303 kp/h as you can see from the photo. In wumpum cash that is 188. And that was flat out for a good 5 kms during covid as you can see from the date. I was driving up from Italy to the UK through Germany. So no, the V2 does not reach 315 kp/h and the V3 does reach 320 kp/h. Sorry no photo – it looks like this forum does not have the latest technology

ParticipantOk, I’m a little confused. I loved my Cadillac CTS, 2 door beautiful, everyone wanted to buy it. But I graduated to my Corvette Stingray, that I went to Corvette racing school with. Only girl, 20 guys…. 4 days, 9 hours a day…trained in all types of things before we were ever allowed on the track. And by the way, it was a Formula One racetrack. Not just going straightforward or even in a circle, this had twists and turns and ups and downs, going 140 plus mph, and 80-90 on a 90 degree turn. I came in 2nd. The only way you see the difference in horsepower is when you’re going over 100 mph. And the guy who got first,( we were both excellent drivers ), is because his V6, could get up on me 30-40 miles an hour ahead. If you love to drive fast, go to racing school, it will challenge you like you can’t believe.
And even though I love the Cadillac, go get a CORVETTE. there’s nothing like it, especially for the price….and in my opinion, the look.
