I ordered a 22 refresh LT Trailboss with the 6.2 and LT Trailboss premium package. It’s been 4 weeks since I ordered (1/22/22) and I’m still at status 1100 order submitted by dealer but not officially accepted by GM at this time.

Production is supposed to start tomorrow 2/21 for crew cab. Anyone get notified their order has been accepted by GM or get build dates ?

Boy that’s going to be one BadAss truck!
Good luck to both of us!
My dealer told me we’re 9th in line and the majority of his factory orders were for the Trail Boss Trim. So it’s a popular model.

I placed an order for a 2022 Zr2 silverado on 12-17-21. The order was accepted by GM the week of 2-7-21. My salesman informed me my truck is scheduled to be built the week of 2-28.
What color did you get? I am trading in a 2021 trail boss in white with the 6.2 for the Zr2. You will love the trail boss with the 6.2 and 10 speed!

I ended up ordering northsky blue metallic, I was originally going to get glacier blue metallic untill I saw the color in person on a Colorado and I thought it looked too bright. On the Colorado it’s called bright blue metallic I believe but will be the same color on the full size trucks but called glacier blue metallic on the silverado and dynamic blue metallic on gmc.

      Same here Dave04.
The Sky Blue is really special! One of those colors that won’t appeal to a lot of people which is good if you ask me.

zbilly63 I received my order number almost immediately from the dealership. I then chatted with GM Customer Support around 2/7 who told me that the order had been accepted and that the targeted production date was 2/28. I just chatted with GM again (2/22) and again said the targeted production date is 2/28 with a caveat that the date could change. I also have my sales rep checking the status weekly.

Ordered LTZ crew standard box with 6.2L on 20 Jan, order excepted same day. I had TPW of 28 Feb given to me on 7 Feb. Sent to plant on 14 Feb with same TPW. I know my VIN from friends at wentzville plant.

      2022 Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab 4wd; 6.2L V8
      Technology Package
      Preferred LTZ Package
      Retractable Step; Bedliner;
      Basically, the works.
I placed my order on January 15th.
Order accepted about a week later and scheduled to be built on the week of March 7th.
I chatted with someone at Chevy.com and confirmed this date as of 2/22/22.
I also asked the rep about which assembly plant it would be built. The rep said they did not have access to this information. He suggested I communicate with my dealership.

Most likley your truck will be assembled at Silao in Mexico. Fort Wayne isnt suppossed to start production of the refresh silverado until march 14th.

Yes, Fred64, I see why you say that. However, after reviewing the build notes on the upcoming models, I see all those that ordered a bedliner will begin at Ft. Wayne then be shipped to one of three or four other places for the spray on liner, the returned to Ft. Wayne for final shipment. I did follow-up with the dealership and the my rep contact confirmed it is being built in the Ft. Wayne facility with no change for build date yet.
Like I said, I assumed it would be built there due to the inclusion of the bedliner. So, I expect the build date to be moved from the 7th to the 14th in the coming weeks. That said, I have my fingers crossed the plant goes back to the original March 7th date to start production. Not likely, but one can dream. The March 7th date was given initially, as that was the original date production was to begin at Ft. Wayne.

1nonlymre, its not the bed liner forcing it to be built at Fort Wayne. Mine has the bed liner and is being built at Silao.

l, Fred64, I hope you’re right, and the truck is actually assembled as the Sialo Plant. The sooner, the better, is what I say. I’m already getting accessories for it and making plans for upgrades. That’s gonna be my baby…my “Blues Clues 2” if you will.

They should have given you a 6 digit order number, if not I would ask for it. You can then go to customer chat and say track order and type in your 6 digit order number and it will tell you the current status. Or call dealer and ask what the current status is.

It is my understanding that Trail Bosses are very limited due to federal regulations regarding the height of the headlights. Look it up, I didn’t believe it either. A new vehicle manufacturer can only build a certain number of these per year.

You have to let them know you want the refresh, or you will get old Style. I just went thru this with my dealer. They have to resubmit it with the new package. Dealer said I will have order number tomorrow.

the pricing is a little higher. they can only submit orders for refreshed model I think since beginning of Jan. The general manager should have been able to build it on his computer and give you a price. It was not available on sales computers. this is how it happened with me. they should have it on line by the 5th but its been pushed a few times already. You can build it at costcoauto.com and get an ideal what is standard and available options.no pictures there though.

My 6.2 trailboss order got accepted last friday and is at order code 2000 and hasn’t updated since and no target production week yet. There may be people who ordered before you at your dealership, that is what happened to me. I was waiting for 4 weeks after i placed my order and my order was still pending and I contacted my dealer and they said there were 2 people in front of me and that their orders got accepted and I would be next and sure enough a few days later my order got accepted.

JGW, most excellent. I placed my 2022 Sierra 1500 SLT order 12/15/2021 and have been using the chat feature on GMC.com to check its status the last few weeks. Its status this morning was it has left production and is headed for shipping. It is a crew cab / short bed so it is coming out of the Silao plant in Mexico. My 2021 came from there last year and took over a month to get to Richmond, VA. (My 2021 is finishing up $36k in collision repairs… thanks to an idiot on cocaine etc.. and I will be trading it in on the 2022 )

I have been a GM employee for just over 25 years. I work as a pipefiter at the Tonawanda NY engine plant. I have owned Gm vehicle my whole life. GM made over 10 billion in profits last year in North America, if they deny me my employee discount on the ZR2 I ordered I will take to social media, YouTube etc. to show how sick the corporate greed is with this company.
For 25 years of service you used to get something memorable, like a clock or a nice watch with gm and your service time on it. Now you get to pick from a bunch of crap like an air fryer, crock pot, or a tablet that we be outdated you the time you get it!
I will escalate this as far as I can to make my voice heard. If get denied my discount I will never buy another GM vehicle and will order a Ford RAPTOR!

I placed my order today for a 1500 RST LM2 with max towing.

Was disappointed to discover that the big trailering mirrors preclude use of all advanced trailering features (app, invisible trailer, etc.)

Does anyone have experience with those? Are they good enough to substitute for real mirrors when towing a 8.5×24 enclosed car hauler?

Talked with my dealer today and was told the 3.0 is constrained the rest of this model year along with technology package for High Country as well as the 6.2. I am so frustrated, one year ago I put in an order for a 2021 High Country with 6.2, it never got slotted so in December I again put in an order for the refreshed High Country with the 3.0. Thought sure this would get picked up, NOOOOOO. Can’t get 3.0, 6.2, tech package, etc., etc., etc.!!! I am at a loss for words at this point when for over a year now a man can’t even get an order in for a new truck of choice. Yeah there is the occasional Limited out there and a few HD’s. Not what I want and if I am going to spend upwards of $70 K I should be able to get what I want. Anyone else feeling this pain?? How long does GM think its customers will wait around before they go elsewhere? If it were not for the relationship I have developed with my dealer I would have been long gone already.

pmanches54, Not sure what’s happening with GM. I put in an order on 1/17 for a High Country, with 3.0 Duramax, and technology package. I was notified last week that the vehicle has been built and is waiting shipment to the dealer. I have not read anything about the 3.0 being constrained, or or other issues regarding tech package etc. With the factory orders it’s my understanding that the dealer must have an allocation for the specifics you’re looking for. If they’re not getting that allocation then I’d try a different dealer. I agree with you I’ve been a chevy guy for 30 year’s but if they can’t deliver I ‘ve already decided that I’m going for a Dodge Ram and the hell with GM. There’s lots of stories here where people have been waiting for months after the vehicle has been built to get it and nothing still sitting at the plant. I’m giving them until April 1st, then I’m out if it’s not delivered. Honestly here in the Phoenix area you can get a Laramie nicely loaded for about $60K.

On March 7th I posted here that this was the situation. 3.0 and 6.2 were both constrained already as was the Technology Package on the High Country. Also the park assists and heated steering wheel. I have tried since last March to order a truck I want but not happening. I am going shopping today for a good used truck that isn’t stupid money, I know a hard thing to do but have to try. GM you are doing one hell of a job!!!! NOT!!!! Thanks! I asked the agent on Chevrolet.com and they said I’m still at 3000 with a TPW of 4-4. Just didn’t know if that is normal and it will to 3300 & 3400 as we get closer to 4-4?

I’m trading in my current TrailBoss but don’t want to give it up yet if this order gets stalled or pushed back.

Chevy told me as well that my LT with the 2.7 has been produced, and to follow up with my dealer for shipping information. I asked the dealer yesterday, and they said that it was “being built as we speak” so I’m not sure what the status is. I don’t know if every dealer is the same, but they said they get updates every Thursday. Ill update after I hear from them next week.

Quick update on my order. My truck was produced this week. It’s now at Event Code 3800 and in the quality assurance phase. Once that is finalized, it will hopefully begin shipment. Considering trucks are already making it to dealerships, I hope I don’t have to wait long to begin shipment.

Just a quick update I ordered my Refresh High Country, on 1/17 and found out it was built on 3/3. I received my VIN last week. The dealer checked on this vehicle yesterday and it’s in Mexico waiting on shipment. He told me that he believes that with the initial round of vehicles GM is waiting on until a certain number are produced then doing a mass shipment. I don’t know if that’s true, or if he was just blowing smoke up my a@#. I’ve read that these plants can build about a 1,000 vehicles a day, how many are being built daily at Silao who knows. I guess as they say patience is a virtue, but I’ve never been very good at it. At this point I’d like to hear it’s been shipped with an estimated delivery date.

      Hello everyone,

Have a question please… So I m in Canada, I have a High Country on order, stuck with the code 3000 for about 45 days.

Based on your experiences or knowledge, someone would know please when it would get unblocked? Both my dealership and GM do not have a date of when it would be built and where.

Side question: is there anyone here in Canada who is about to get a High Country (the updated model…)? Kind of wondering if GM perhaps plans to wait that the Oshawa plant starts building the Silverado 1500s to fulfill the Canadian orders… There is still no official date (publicly) when the plant in Ontario would start building these models… Just that it would happen ‘this spring’…

      Thanks 🤘

No limiteds are being built once the refresh is started at the plant. They probably still have some to ship. but they quit taking orders on them a few months back. I had to order the refresh in January to get a standard bed with the options i wanted.

Don’t have a choice if using the gm employee discount. they set the price which is close to 10 percent below msrp. you either walk or pay it. Did they not informed you at the time of order that msrp and price for options could be adjusted by gm. I had to sign the statement acknowledging that when i ordered. price and available incentives are at time of delivery not time of order. like no 0% on new trucks if you go that route. Sucks but it is what it is.

I know all about this. One year ago I placed an order for a 2021 High Country but it NEVER got slotted. Then in December of 21 I placed an order for a 22 High Country with the 3.0. This past week I got a call from my dealer saying the tech package was unavailable in the High Country until at least June. Ironically the tech package was available in the LTZ and he had two slots for the 3.0 so we went ahead and configured an LTZ with all the options I was to get on the High Country. So basically I was able to order a High Country with the LTZ badge. Doesn’t make sense to me they will put the tech package in an LTZ but not the High Country but that’s what happened. So after one year to the day my order got accepted by GM to be built the week of April 11th. Also the front and rear park assist and the heated steering wheel is non operational for now but the dealer can and will retrofit when parts become available at no cost to me. The only other constraint was the trailering mirrors which can be added at a later date.

I see this is a busy thread so someone here may have an answer. I ordered my Silverado High Country 3500 SRW 4X4 mid January, Order accepted and tracking code given Feb. I was given a start build date of March 21st and now tracking says “Your vehicle order has been accepted by General Motors and is moving toward the production process.”. Is that a good thing or bad that there is no longer a date? I am hoping it is now in line to start to be assembled. Any help is appreciated. I would love to drive the truck before I need a new mortgage to fill the tank up lol

I’m in the same boat. Mine was built on 3 March also and waiting on shipment to the wentzville plant for dealer delivery. I have been watching the gmfamilyfirst site for inventory and most of the vehicles are in transit. Very few on lots yet say one here and there. They have a Lt Lt1 here in wentzville with the six in it i was going to look at to see the interior. Im wondering if they where waiting for the price increase to take effect which did a few days ago. So we will see i would expect mid to end of april at this point. I was told 3 to 4 months so well with in that time frame . My salesman seems to think 2 weeks once shipped.

      Lewest1426,

My 2022 Sierra SLT Crew Cab/Short bed 6.2/10 speed was ordered 12/15/2021 @ Hendrick GMC Richmond. 2 weeks ago I was given the VIN and told by my sales person it will arrive at Hendrick Richmond 4/21/2022. Clearly little clarity and detail on when all these that are produced in Silao Mexico actually hit shipping… which I am assuming are what, rail/shipboard, whats the port of entry?

Actual schedule of process of retro fit features like heated wheel and front/rear park assist are missing, albeit the GMC order system says the front/rear park assist will be retro fitted in Q4 of 2022. There is some info that says heated steering may be on mine, but some that says maybe not.

My Hendrick sales person says the dealer invoice is the best source of that info, I’ll be up there seeing him Thursday. Any firm info I obtain, I’ll post back here.

I was at my dealer yesterday and they had 1 refreshed silverado lt with the 2.7. I took it for a ride and was impressed with not only the interior, but also the power of the 2.7. Honestly it felt stronger than the 2020 Trail boss I had with the 5.3. Granted it’s no where near the 6.2 I have now, but it was snappy! This truck was just a cloth 40 20 40 front bench and the dash with the new screens was amazing. GM knocked it out of the park with thus new dash for sure! Now I really can’t wait to get my ZR2!!!

Hello! I just ordered a 2022 Refreshed High Country. I am wondering about Dynamic Fuel Management. I read online only certain trim levels have Dynamic Fuel Management in their engines. Unfortunately, the 4×4 with a 5.3 engine does not come with Dynamic Fuel Management. I’m assuming because the new 5.3 engines are better on fuel?? Anyone knows more about this topic, please respond.

      Thanks,

JayStewart, your truck doesn’t come with DFM not because it is so easy on fuel rather they don’t have the chip for it. Consider yourself lucky to not have it. More trouble than it is worth considering it is only good for less than 1 mpg. To get a High Country ordered today you won’t have the option of the technology package either. I finally got an order in last week and wanted the High Country but with the 3.0 and found the technology package was not an option at this time and until at least June. I ended up going with the LTZ and was able to add the technology package and every other option that the High Country would normally have, only thing missing is the HC badge. Money ended up actually about equal by the time I finished and got everything I wanted. Mine has a build date for the week of April 11th.

Thanks pmaches54 for the reply. Yes, I guess for only a 1mpg savings, not worth it. I was never told about not having the tech package; that’s unfortunate. This chip shortage seems to be only getting worse and will continue to for the foreseeable future. I too was looking into the LTZ trim but I didn’t like the grill and front bumper. Sounds like your LTZ will be pretty loaded up! That’s awesome.

        Enjoy it when it arrives,
        Jay

phil750, order got accepted on March 17th. Exactly one year to the day since I first put in an order. That one never got slotted and then I placed an order on Dec. 23 of 2021 for the refreshed and still no slot till last week and at that time I couldn’t get the technology package on the HC so then went to the LTZ. Otherwise I was going to wait till who knows when to get an order accepted. My dealer is a small dealer but treats us very very well and that is why I was willing to wait till he got slots open. He had three last week and three this week for crew cabs. Two last week were for the 3.0 which is what I wanted. He has people waiting on LT’s with the 5.3 but had 0 slots for them. Not sure if they switched to the 3.0 or the other available 4 banger.

Yet I’ve seen a few others who’s vehicle was produced around the same time or later which have been shipped and they have estimated delivery dates. One theory is GM is delaying the shipments so we could all participate in the recent price increases. Bottom line who knows it could be just the luck of the draw.

My 2022 Sierra SLT crew cab/short box 6.2/10 speed was ordered 12/15/2021 and built 1st week of March 2022. Dealer got me the VIN and RPO basic printout 3/10/2022, and the truck went to event code 4200-Shipped sometime the 2nd week of March 2022. A week or so later he was able to say that the truck would be delivered to them April 21, 2022. The order was placed Dec 15, 2021 @ Hendrick GMC in Richmond VA.

      Hope this helps!

Right, I’m trying to talk myself off the ledge. I figured the same thing with the price increases. I mean it doesn’t make logistical sense for them to not want to ship them. If they have been produced, they need to make money off of them, and they don’t do that until they ship them. I’m hoping to hear that its scheduled to ship soon.

Exactly, Lewest1426, potential money is left on the table for every day any one vehicle fails to ship. The sooner they ship, the sooner they sell, the sooner more can be made and shipped…and so on. It doesn’t make business sense to keep the merchandise stalled. If GM could get all the trucks out to consumers at the literal snap of a finger, you know they would! My order is currently built, and is awaiting transport, stuck at event code 4000. Hopefully it is shipped either this week or next. Fingers crossed. As for the price increases, the rep I’m working with at my dealership confirmed with me the other day the originally quoted price at the time of the build is what I will be paying. The “at the moment you buy the truck” situation seems to apply to rebates and incentives, not the MSRP price. That seems to be established at the time of order acceptance. At least, that’s what was told to me by the dealership I’m working with.

1nolymre, I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking the same thing lol, its comforting to hear that other dealerships are honoring the price that was quoted when you ordered your truck. I was in the dealership a month ago when the first round of price increases were announced, and when asked if the price would change, they told me that it was the same price as quoted. hoping that’s still the case upon delivery, whenever that may be.

I order a 2500 HD Custom a few weeks ago and I was told the price of the truck on the order is what it is going to be minus the rebates. But whatever rebates if any will be adjusted when the truck is purchased. I have a feeling I won’t see this truck till next year anyway.

Order accepted 2nd week Feb, Target Production date of Mar 21st of my 3500 High country Duramax 4X4 Silverado must have been accurate. Got a new message on GMC.com of
Virtual Assistant at 18:20, Mar 30:
Congratulations! Your vehicle has been produced. It is important to know that shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealer is the best source for additional detail on that process.

Whoo Hooo unless I wait forever for shipping like most on the forum.

I got an update today, my truck has been produced, and is in Silao Mexico, it had been in code 3800 as of last week. today it is in code 4B00 – Order Bayed (vehicle is waiting on transportation or pulled for quality control) Can anyone in this thread give more insight on what that entails, other than the obvious of what it states? im just hoping that it means some sort of progress. there still isn’t an estimated arrival given to the dealer.

      thanks in advance

I’m in the same boat as you, Lewest1426. Per chevy.com, my truck was produced, completed, inspected, and has been bayed since 3/22/22. I’m a fairly optimistic person, so I was not worried it would be produced quickly. My fear was always in the shipping of the vehicle. I’m hoping it doesn’t take too long to ship now that it’s been done. Financially, I think it makes sense for GM to ship these out as soon as possible, as they can’t charge the dealership until they do. In essence, GM leaves money on the table for every day, any vehicle is left bayed (Event 4B00), so it’s in their best interest to move the cars to dealerships as soon as possible. That said, I’m hopeful the way to shipment doesn’t take too long, but understand it may be something that is out of GM’s hands at this time.

I had some time on my hands, and was curious, so I looked up the Silao Plant on google maps. when the satellite picture was taken, I don’t know. but they have an extensive rail system where all the trucks are bayed. I’m curious to how their shipping process goes. how they select which trucks in the bay to ship, and why? but that’s above my paygrade

1nonlymre and Lewest1426: I also looked up the plant on google and saw the same. However I believe the photo that’s up is from 2019. Here’s been my experience since my High Country was built around March 1st. It sat at the plant until this past week when I was notified on 3/38 it had shipped. At this point I only know that it’s been shipped to West Chicago with no ETA. This has been only my experience and I’m sure there’s others who’s shipments have been quicker and those that are still waiting…. Good luck guys

The various production sites for Chevy and GMC trucks are listed at this link.

      https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/06/heres-where-all-the-u-s-market-gm-trucks-are-built/

There is some fresh info this last week about heated steering wheels in these being ‘off constraint’. I also read back a few months ago that GM was holding certain constrained features for certain higher end truck orders. Denali’s etc for GMC, not sure about the Chevy models.

I have a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 4×4 at Event Code 4200 (Shipped) being delivered to my dealer 4/21/2022. When that gets here I’ll certainly share what was not included. I’m thinking the heated wheel may have slipped in but that the front/rear parking sensors won’t be.

I talked to a Sale Manager who told me they don’t have any control over it, the GM does that when a vehicle goes to “in transit” status. Ask your dealer to set you up for VIN Event & Milestone alerts from Vin View by Freight Verify. Foe example I received a text when it arrived at the rail head in Chicago and then another text to let me know that the transport company now has it and what the ETA is to the dealer. Good luck

I got my dealer to submit my cell number to VINView this morning and got my first text shortly there after. They have shifted its arrival to 4/23.

Just seems a goodly number of delayed trucks are U.S. built, or is that my imagination?

I ordered my 2022 Sierra in Dec 21, and about a month later I got an email from GMC that looked like an ad or something. It encouraged me to go to a link and put in a $100 ‘reservation request, which I did. Received an email with a ‘reservation number’. It was a joke I think, I do not believe it helped in any way but I played along.

I have purchased 4 Tahoes and 2 Sierras in the last 15 years from my dealer. They are a Hendrick dealer and I want to believe their buying power/influence is pretty significant, but I’m just sort of guessing.

Good news folks. I confirmed today that GM is now allowing Dealerships to pick up completed Trucks from the distribution plants (Fort Wayne, Flint, etc). Not sure how long that process will take, but it’s gotta be a hell of a lot better than waiting for haulers to pick up the trucks. Dealers want to sell vehicles, so I would think they will be aggressive in their efforts to pick up the trucks…

At least now I have an estimated delivery date to the dealership. Per my rep, and confirmed with a screen shot of the order, the delivery date to the dealer is 5/17. Speaking with chevy.com chat, they state there is no delivery date, but I know their system is many times behind. So at least there’s that. Plus, I’ve heard some people getting their vehicle before the estimated date, so I’m hoping delivery is sooner than later. Fingers crossed!!!

My 2022 Sierra SLT 4×4 went to event code 4800 a few weeks ago and at that point had a delivery to dealer date of 4/21. 2 weeks ago that went to 4/23 and yesterday it went to 4/26. My assumption is these Sialo builds go on an ocean voyage to get to the U.S., port of entry for east coast anyway? And I’ve read where Philadelphia is where mine landed and then what? Rail? Truck ? Some combination?

Gemassie: I really think all of the delay issues arise once the truck is delivered to the distribution facilities. My order was rolling along just fine. Made it from Mexico to Fort Wayne right on schedule. Now it’s been stuck in Fort Wayne for almost 4 weeks. I really think it has to do with these distribution centers having too many trucks and not enough haulers. Why else would completed trucks just be sitting there?

Order placed 3/17 for Elevation premium package 5.3L. Got TPW of 4/18, then email today saying truck was built. Contacted dealer to get vin and he gave me ETA of 5/17. That will be awesome if it holds up.

Well… finally. My 2022 Sierra SLT 4×4 just got unloaded at my Hendrick dealer in Richmond this morning. Vin View had been saying 4/21, then 4/23 then last week it said 4/26. So… none of those were correct.

Thank you all the hard working truck drivers!!! Ha!

… and I received a Vin View text notification before getting a call from the dealer. Thanks to all who posted about asking their dealer to sign them up for that.

phil750, I was notified that the truck was built on March 10. A week or so later it was Event Code 4200 ‘Shipped’ which I interpretted as its going on the ship. April 11 I was told it was Event Code 4800 ‘rail ramp unload’ and a delivery date of 4/21. Early last week I got an updated delivery date of 4/23, then 4/26 and it showed up this morning (4/22). So a little over 5 weeks from built in Mexico to arriving at my dealer in Richmond VA. Seems like that matches the timing you have on yours.

My sales gent sent me some pictures of it this morning in their prep shop. I’ve asked them to put extra tint on the side windows, a gold pin stripe on each side, install a tonneau cover they ordered a few weeks back that is aluminum with the top panels painted to match the Cayenne Red Tincoat of the truck. I also asked them to put a Ceramic coat seal on the truck. They say I can pick it up Weds 4/27.

phil750, my Sierra SLT was already at event code 4800 when my dealer got my cell number signed up for Vin View. I got a ‘welcome’ at the point he signed me up. Nothing new for a couple of weeks and the morning it was unloaded at the dealer I got a text from Vin View saying ‘final delivery to dealer’. I called and my sales person was standing there watching it come off the hauler.

I have read above where some owners are asking to be added to Vin View and their dealers are not doing so. My dealer was right on it, and I suppose knew exactly how to make that happen.

I’m picking up my 2022 Sierra SLT tomorrow, they needed a couple of days to put a tonneau cover on, add some tint on the side windows, put some pin stripes on and do a Ceramic coat on the paint.

I have found these online sources that are supposedly tapped into the GM production system will often tell you anything. I think some of them get their kicks doing it. I have a “supposed” TPW of the week of 04/25/22. Agents have told me everything from that to it is being built in Flint, MI. I don’t believe that one particularly since my truck is a 1500 and the last I knew Flint only built HD’s. I finally did get an email from them today saying again my TPW was this week and it was subject to change and nothing more is known. They say they have no way of knowing where it is or will be built. Also said they will email me again with any updates on 05/03/22.

@GreeneGuy1970. It’s been nearly a month since you last replied to this thread. Just wondering if you’re still in the same situation waiting for delivery of your 2022 LTD. I’m sure I know the answer so don’t know why I’m asking, but would love to hear some good news for you.

I’m still waiting on mine that was produced in early Feb. and moved to the Marion Industrial Center from Kokomo between 2/14 and 2/21. I check in with the dealer every few weeks and with the GM chat folks once a month. The dealer never has an update and the chat specialists seem to make it up on the fly. On 4/25 they wrote: “Your vehicle has been produced released to the carrier and waiting for shipment.” Then yesterday they wrote: “the vehicle has been produced and is pending some final testing and approval and will be ready for shipment soon.”

These statements seem to indicate different things. At this point, we’re not sure we’ll see the vehicle this year as it seems like the refreshed models are the only ones moving. Would love to hear an update from someone else waiting on an LTD.

My TPW was week of 4/25 and I didn’t get confirmation of production until 5/6 when the truck showed up on my dealers website as in transit. Was glad it did, that way I got the VIN and all the details of the build. Then I found what was restrained, the seat blowers and front and rear park assist, both to be retrofitted at a later date. Was glad to see the wheel well liners made it on. It is now on the train from Ft Wayne to Selkirk, NY.

franciss8, I ran into the same thing in March trying to get an allocation for a High Country. Then the tech package was not available and anticipated to remain so until at least June. I figured by then even if it were to become available there would likely be something else on constraints. I decided to go with an LTZ and that way I was able to get the tech package along with everything else the HC would have had except the seat stitching and grille. I added in the spray bedliner and running boards along with the all weather floor mats and hard tonneau cover. Basically an HC without the badge and after getting allocation 3/17 it was built week of 4/25 in Ft. Wayne and is now awaiting train ride. Hoping it doesn’t get parked in a field. According to the window sheet the only two hold backs are the front and rear park assist along with the seat blowers, both to be retrofitted.

BMC22LTZ I finally got an allocation on the 17th of March which I agree isn’t bad at all if I hadn’t been trying since the 17th of March last year!!! First time was for a High Country with a 6.2 but never got allocated, then Dec 17th a refreshed High Country with 3.0 and when that allocation finally hit in March the tech package was not available on the HC so I went to the LTZ where the tech was available and added in the things that otherwise came standard on the HC like the sprayed bedliner and running boards. It is basically an HC without the badging. That is alright since I wasn’t crazy about the black interior or the grill of the HC. Just personal preference. Mine is headed to Selkirk, NY train depot, that is where all the trucks for the northeast land. Where is yours headed? Let me know as it goes along.

pmanches54: I didn’t like the grill on the HC myself. I couldn’t decide on a right time to buy and had been considering keeping the current vehicle I have (18 Traverse). The trade in offer was fair, so I jumped on the LTZ.

It sucks that you had to go through all that to finally get a truck order accepted. I’m only about 3 hours away from Ft. Wayne in Illinois, so we’ll see how long it takes to actually get here. It will probably come on a car hauler, but I’ll say something once the truck has landed at the dealership.

My eta got pushed back to 6/8 from 5/27 but trucks that were built a week ago are already on there way to my dealer which makes no sense. All I get when I ask my dealer is that it’s on its way and when I contact chevy chat they tell me something different every time I ask. They tell me one day it is sitting in their distribution center in mexico waiting to be picked up by the carrier and another day they tell me they have not received any shipping updates and that gm is aware of shipping delays and my dealer is the best place to ask since they are notified within 48 hours before delivery.

Calling the dealer may be your best best, actually. I went to my dealership today and got an update on my truck. It shows it is still in Mexico with an updated estimated delivery date of 6/18. BUT, the dealer also showed me an example of how the system is not updated properly. He showed me a vehicle coming from Flint, that states it is still in their distribution center. Yet, when he went through another means using VinView, he saw the vehicle is actually in an intermittent shipping yard in California awaiting final delivery. He also told me about a recent vehicle that showed event code 3800 and simultaneously showed up on a hauling truck at the dealership.
So the bottom line is, VinView is your best bet for information, and that information is only obtained through the dealership, not any general motors website chat.

I got an email that mine was being built 2 weeks ago, but no update of it being complete until late last week. Only thing I get from chat is that it’s produced and released to carrier. No eta. Drives me crazy that my new tuck is only a 9 hour drive away but it could take several weeks to get it.

It amazes how lacking the updates about orders are. I can order a $2 item from Amazon and track the status but not on a $70k truck. Lol

Do you have a VIN yet? Do you know where it was built? If built state side and no holds on it then it should ship withing 3 to 4 weeks and then another week to two weeks to deliver to dealer. Mine was built in Ft. Wayne week of 4/25 and is now supposed to be on train coming east. If you can get chevy chat to tell you what code your truck is at that should give you some idea. 3800 is produced and VIN available, then several more codes going up to 4300 intermediate delivery, then 4800 at rail destination awaiting transport to dealer. If it was built in Mexico you can expect more delays but since you are 9 hour drive from plant I expect you are state side.. Mexican built trucks have a little longer trip since they have to get on boat if coming to east coast and then go thru customs regardless of how they get here. Good luck and keep us posted as your journey continues.
Your dealer should have the VIN and he can track it on VIN view. It will show when it starts its journey either on rail or truck and all along the way as it progresses.

I got the vehicle produced message last Wednesday from the automated chat so I open a chat with an actual advisor who told me the same but that it was also released to carrier and no eta would be provided until it ships. I did get the VIN from the dealer on Wednesday.

Truck was built in Fort Wayne, IN and I’m in Iowa. I’m also curious…how long is one truck in production being built?

Here is the latest from chat this morning….

Thank you for waiting. Upon checking, your vehicle is for intermediate delivery to Roanoke, Indiana with the carrier Auto Handling Corp. From this point, your dealer is in the best position to provide estimated delivery times. Thank you for your patience.

      Status code is 4300.

Here is the update on my truck.
      2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 – LTZ (Refreshed)
      Ordered January 15
Order accepted late January (don’t remember exact date)
Truck assembled in Silao, Mexico on the week of March 7.
Remained in their distribution center for quite a while (almost 3 months)
Original expected date, according to VinView was 5/17/22. This was then updated to 6/8/22.
The truck FINALLY started to move either today or yesterday. It is currently passing San Francisco, Mexico (San Pancho) in Yucatan.
Expected to arrive in Mira Loma, California (very close to the dealership) on or before 6/4/22.
      Let the excitement begin!!!!

      Hello

Someone has experienced this previously please…?

So, about 3-4 weeks ago, GM’s online chat service told me that my truck was scheduled to be built around 3 weeks ago. I just talked with them again. They told me that now there is no date when it would be built…

      Temporary stop?
Perhaps an error in their answer about 4 weeks ago?

      Thanks

Got my VIN and printout of all the options included during the build. Was surprised to see that I got all the options that I ordered with no pending retrofits. That’s a relief. Currently sitting in Silao, Mexico awaiting transport. I’ve been following all the threads concerning these orders so I know I still have a bit of a wait before delivery.

I have a 2022 GMC Sierra Denali 6.2L on order and its currently in status 4300. I reached out to a customer care rep and he told me that my truck is at a distribution center in New Haven, MI. Does anyone know if the trucks can be picked up from the distribution center by the dealer. Im from metro detroit area so if this is a possibility I would hope my dealer would do this instead of having me wait 8-12 weeks to be shipped less than 50 miles.

I was also told yesterday that my truck is either in New Haven or in route to New Haven. I sure hope it’s not another 8-12 weeks to move 500 miles for delivery!

I contacted the new car sales manager at the dealer I placed my order and I asked them if they would be able to pick it up and she stated that every time they have attempted to over the years they were denied but im not sure if shes just giving me the run around or if this is factual. Honestly 8-12 weeks to move a built vehicle less than 50 miles is absolutely absurd.

What the heck does this response from the virtual chat mean?

At this time, your order has reached a point that requires follow-up with your selling dealership. Please touch base with your dealer at your convenience for more information.

It’s a generic response. It could mean nothing….it could mean something. Either way, best to contact your dealership for follow-up information like it suggests, at the very least for peace of mind.

For the last 2+ weeks the response was “shipping arrangements will take place next”. Then today I got this new message about follow-up with the dealer. No message of in transit yet or eta.

So guess I will check in with them this morning.

I asked a chat advisor and got this…I have located your order and can see that your vehicle is at a Distribution Center in NEW HAVEN, IN, undergoing quality check and pending some final testing and approvals.

When I asked for a status code she said a code is not showing due to continued updates. So…stopping by the dealer later.

What a system GM has….apparently under going quality checks and testing in New Haven, IN means delivered to the dealer. I stopped by to ask about the status update and the salesman is like “you spoiled my surprise, I was going to call monday when it was cleaned up and accessories installed.” Damn thing showed up last night with a couple other 22 refreshes.

GM post build tracking system is garbage I guess.

When I chatted with Chevy this morning I was told the vehicle is en route to its final destination, and to check with the dealership. I asked for the event code and was given Code 5000. I looked up the code and it means ‘delivered to dealer’. I called the dealership and confirmed with my sales rep, who stated the truck came in this morning and he was waiting for all dealer installations (floor mats and such) be completed before calling me. I beat him to the punch, basically. So now, I will be getting my truck on Wednesday morning. My wife and I will be going up to get it. Once it started to move from the distribution center in Silao, MX, it didn’t take long at all. Maybe 10 days max from distribution center, to rail yard, to dealership.

Ordered a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado refreshed LTZ (5.3L V8, with Tech package, multi-flex tailgate, spray-on bedliner, etc) in April 28, 2022
Order Accepted in May 2, 2022
      TPW in May 30, 2022
Truck produced in June 3, 2022
Currently in Silao, Mexico awaiting transport

BTW, I asked the dealership to add me to VIN View, and I was told that I couldn’t be added, no other explanation given.. anyone know why?

As far as ETA, I was told no ETA until the truck is loaded onto the train.

      Let the waiting game begin…..

Placed order for third time on March 17th of this year and accepted March 19th. Supposed to go to production week of April 11th but Ft. Wayne shut down for two weeks and truck was then scheduled to build week of April 25th. Went to train depot after a couple weeks and hopped on train for Selkirk, NY. About two or three weeks on the train and was offloaded week of May 30th. Dealer is sending his transporter after it this week. Hope to have my hands on it at end of this week or early next week.
Refreshed LTZ 1500 Crew Cab regular box
      3.0 Duramax
      Tech package
      Trailer package
      LTZ Convenience package
      Spray bed liner
      Hard tonneau cover
      Cherry Red tintcoat
Wheel to wheel chrome assist steps
It has two deletes to be retrofitted later, the front and rear park assist and seat blowers.
I was lucky to actually have gotten wheel well liners and the active steering wheel heat which were both constrained around that time. Also feel lucky truck got built in Ft. Wayne, that is just me preferring built in US.
I have been at this for 15 months now. A year ago last March I placed an order for a HIgh County but it never got allocated. Then in December again placed order for High Country but when an allocation came for it the tech package was not available in the High Country but was in the LTZ. That is when I switched to the LTZ and built it up to everything the HC would have had. Turns out since I like chrome on a truck it is better since the HC has a dull two toned grill. Also I was able to get the gray interior that I couldn’t get in the HC.

Anyone have the 360 surround camera on their truck? It works great but when I have the rear tire view it is all fuzzy/blurry but the front tire view is clear. Not sure if this is because the cameras on the mirrors are closer to the front tires than the rear tires. I have tried wiping the camera lenses off thinking maybe it was the tire shine from the detail shop because they put so much on and I could see it was splashing everywhere on the truck but cleaning did not help.

Also when sitting in the back seat you can barely hear the speakers playing like they aren’t on. The front speakers work fine though. I went in the balance settings and made sure it was in the center to play equally out of all speakers. I put my ear to one of the speakers in the back door and can slightly hear the radio. If I turn the fade to all the way to the rear speakers only you pretty much have to turn the volume up pretty high to get a normal sound level out if the speakers in the rear.

My RST Duramax is ready since May 25 and waiting in the shipping yard to be dispatched. No one has more information (neither dealership nor gm chat). Dealership keeps saying the truck can show up at any moment. GM chat keeps saying the truck is waiting for final tests. Almost 4 weeks for a shipment it’s frustrating.

I asked when mine showed up to make sure that was covered. When I got to the actual delivery all they did was write up the paperwork at the original price at time of order. They must have handled the credit difference behind the scenes.

My refresh 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali was built May 20th. It left Mexico last week on a ship heading up the west coast destined to Portland, OR. If any of you living near the west coast are waiting for a truck built in Mexico during the month of May, there’s a good chance it’s on this ship. I don’t have an ETA to Portland but it’s stopping today in San Diego to offload some of it’s cargo. Good luck to all that are getting tired of waiting.

Let me tell you about my nightmare order of a refreshed Silverado LTZ, 5.3 premium package. Order made 1/7. Order accepted 1/13. Truck built on 2/21. Today is 6/22. This truck is still somewhere in Mexico! GM has no communication with the dealer about a delivery date. Multiple friends that ordered truck after mine was built have already been delivered. Can not imagine any acceptable excuse why this truck has not been delivered. Truck has been sitting in a parking lot in the summer heat for FOUR+ months. So much for new truck. Will be due an oil change by the time it arrives here. Will never consider another GM.

Has anyone in Ontario, Canada received their refresh yet? What was the timeline? I got my VIN and build confirmation exactly 8 weeks ago and it’s been sitting in Fort Wayne ever since. Dealership doesn’t have an ETA and they have been giving me regular updates and Chevrolet keeps telling me “We understand your frustration” and “Please reach out to your dealership for an ETA”. It seems that it’s no one’s problem from the time it’s produced to the time it arrives at the dealership.

Ordered an LTZ in Glacier Blue with the 6.2 & every option I could without sacrificing the max towing capacity. I’ve asked the dealer twice over the last 3 weeks for an order # to no avail. They tell me the order # isn’t produced until the order is picked up by GM. Is this legit or some BS? They never asked for a deposit as we’ve purchased new (off the lot) from them before. Same salesperson, but communication far worse than our last experience. Keep the faith or place the order with a different dealership?

tlangemeier; That is correct, but what they didn’t tell you is that the dealership has to receive an allocation for vehicle. So go back and ask if they have an allocation for an LTZ, 6.2.. I’d also ask when do they receive their allocations. When I ordered my High Country 3.0 the dealership told me they get their allocations every Thursday. I also never provided a down payment or signed anything, I think it depends on the dealership, I’m sure others will chime in with their experiences. BTW from the time I ordered the vehicle until I picked it up was 14 weeks (Jan – Apr)

I placed order with dealership on 6/14 for an LTZ w/ 3.0 (no sunroof/rear sliding window, Convenience II package)

They get their orders picked up on Thursdays. With the 22MY cut off soon or already past, I’m curious if I’ll get a ‘22 with the LM2 or a ‘23 with the LZ0.

I’m trying not to bug my dealer and be annoying but I need to check in.

When I ordered they said there were no issues with placing it in working the system.

Has anybody ordered a new truck this month? What did your dealer say when you ordered?

      • #712443

It is highly unlikely you will get a 22 since all 3.0’s and 6.2’s were constrained a few weeks ago until 23 model. As for orders placed on Thursday, yes they all get their allocations on that day but can also have and likely will have constraints. Ask your dealer for your order number. Also I got the convenience II package on my LTZ and it came with sliding rear window, maybe it could be deleted, not sure. I didn’t want or get the sunroof either. BTW you will love the 3.0 if you get the LM2. I got mine two weeks ago and after only 200 miles we went on a 2100 mile trip with nothing but great reviews. Combined mileage including 75+ mph interstate, 65 two lane roads, and city driving I averaged for the total trip 29.7 MPG. I think once it gets broke in I can get 30. Good luck.

    • #712482
      OnlyInAChevy

I figured I would be getting a 23MY. I didn’t get the Convenience II package since I didn’t want the sunroof or rear sliding window. I never used the sunroof on my 2008 and didn’t have the rear sliding so I wouldn’t miss it. I wanted Silver Ice but that was discontinued so I went with white. Now seeing there is a new charcoal, I’m second-guessing white now. The Dark Ash was basically black so I passed on that color.

No dealers in my area have a new ’22 with the 3.0 and any dealer between 75 – 100 miles away wants to charge $1,000 to $2,500 Market Adjustment since I’m not local. One dealer charges up to $5,000 depending on the vehicle.

My biggest question which can’t be answered at the moment is what changes will be coming with the LZ0. Everything is pure speculation at the moment.

My understanding is the biggest change on the LZO will be multi displacement. Probably some changes to the external routing of engine parts so to accomidate it into certain SUV’s. I know there are a couple I think the Tahoe the current 3.0 won’t fit.

    • #712517
      OnlyInAChevy

By multi displacement do you mean DFM/AFM?

If so that’s a huge step back and might have to reconsider my order and find a new LM2 and pay the Market Adjustment.

It is in fact. I don’t know this for a fact but that is the rumor about the new changes to the 3.0 . They are trying to squeeze every mpg they can from every engine to meet the demands of the EPA. It is too bad to mess with the 3.0 since it is already the highest mpg engine in the truck line they have.

Get used to the useless chevy chat. They will contradict themselves daily. They did on my LTZ and get this, I took delivery of it over two weeks ago and every week I STILL get emails telling me it has been built and awaiting transportation. Until it hits transportation it is a guessing game but after that your dealer can track it in his vin view. Mine came from Ft Wayne, IN by train to Selkirk, NY and it showed on vin view every position and every stop it made which was very numerous. It took between 2 and 3 weeks from ID to NY.

Hello everyone! Congrats to all those who have their new 2022 refresh Silverado! I can’t wait to get mine. I have a few questions though. I ordered my High Country way back in March. I just got a call from my dealer saying that the Multi-Flex tailgate I ordered is on hold. I know from reading past posts that the Multi-flex tailgate was on hold in March but does anyone have an update? Is it really still on hold or is this bull?
The dealer said I would have to take the truck without it or cancel my order and put in a new order with the Multi-flex tailgate. I am still undecided what to do but leaning towards just getting the truck without it. If I was to put in a new order, I will be paying around $3000 more to get pretty much the same truck I ordered in March and I will have lost the last 4 months waiting on this one. What a frustrating process and GM should do better. Why can’t they just build the truck and put the Multi-flex tailgate in afterward when it does become available? They do this with the chips as in the heated seats and steering wheel, so you would think they could with other parts.

Anyway, if anyone knows any info about the Multi-flex tailgate or would like to share their story about ordering the Multi-flex tailgate, let me know.

      Cheers
      Jay

I was in the same boat as you and decided to get a dealer ordered High Country with the standard tail gate. I really wanted the Multi-flex but now that I have the truck, I have forgotten about it. I love the powered tailgate close feature and the truck itself. The ride quality and low noise level is just amazing.

I picked up a new 2022 Trail Boss a month ago. It was a dealer order, and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. It is loaded up with everything BUT the multi-flex tailgate. It has the 3 liter Duramax. It is so far turning out to be one of the best trucks I’ve ever owned. The refreshed design is stunning, including the new dash. Regarding the tailgate … I’m glad it doesn’t have the multi-flex. My friend has it on his new GMC Denali 3500 and hates it. True to form and word on the streets, it is already damaged from hitting the hitch ball mount repeatedly. We both tow trailers on a regular basis, so taking the ball mount in and out just to make full use of the gate is nonsense. As stated above though, the single piece gate with the power up and down feature is awesome, especially when walking out of Home Depot with armloads of stuff that needs to go in the back. I hope this helps a little with those of you tossing around the tailgate dilemma. Now if only the Camaro I ordered in March would get built !!! But that’s in another forum thread (haha). But a very sincere Good Luck to those of you waiting on a Silverado. It will be worth the wait.

Found out some good news this morning.

It looks like my order was accepted at the end of June (placed mid-June) and is currently sitting at 3400 with a current build date of 8/1.

I’m wondering if that GM has so many ’22 orders that they are trying to get as many completed before they make the 23MY changeover? I also asked my dealer if he knew anything about the new LZ0 and he said they have not received any information on it.

How long does it usually take GM to actually build the truck? I understand that much of the waiting can be getting the order accepted and transit times.

You must have ordered anything other than 6.2 or a Duramax..
I’ve had an order in for a 22 Trail boss since the begining of April and recently told i won’t see a 22 . Was told it will be a 23…

Your guess is as good as mine but I ordered a LTZ w/ the 3.0 Duramax.

My dealer said the only way I would have an order number is if GM picked it up and put it in the system. I called Chevrolet and also did the online chat and both told me the same thing.

At what point will I have a VIN assigned?

Not sure how to edit a post but checked with Chevrolet chat again to confirm.

They said it’s still showing a build date of 8/1/2022 as of right now. I also asked if they could confirm it was indeed submitted as a 2022 Silverado 1500 LTZ with the 3.0 and they said yes. He suggested to check back in 2-3 weeks for status update so we’ll see what it says then.

If they were not going to start building, would they not have picked it up and assigned an order number? I would have thought if GM was going to hold off on waiting for it to be a 23MY, they wouldn’t have already assigned it an order and be at 3400.

Anyone know how accurate dealer order information is. I ordered a trailboss mid March. Got word it was built beginning on June. Contacted GM chat the following week and they told me that it is in transit with a 4200 code. Yesterday I reached out to my dealership and they said it has an “MP hold” on it currently. Anyone have this before?

They did the same thing to me with my Camaro ordered in March of this year … and discontinued the color I ordered. 2023 Camaro production was supposed to start June 6th, then it was bumped to the 17th, but no one seems to know if they did indeed change over. Regarding the Silverado … I was VERY lucky and got one fresh off the carrier a month ago. The dealer ordered refreshed models are beginning to show up, at least here in S. Florida, but you have to stay in contact with your salesperson and/or sales manager … or put a deposit on one that fits your needs and is soon to arrive. They could have sold mine 20 times in the hour it took me to get to the dealership to make the purchase.

Thanks to mr-gearhead and Splatt513 for replying to my post. I’m hoping that not having the multi-flex tailgate will not matter when all is said and done. I like the functionality of it (even though I won’t use those functions as much) but just as important for me, is I like the Chevy bowtie at the back and not the word, Chevrolet across the back of the tailgate. Just personal preference for me. I would even be happy with a regular tailgate with the bowtie instead of the Chevrolet wording if they could give me that option. Let’s hope I get used to the regular tailgate and lettering if my truck ever gets built and delivered! This whole process is insane. If I weren’t up $3000 due to ordering in March and the price increases, I would be canceling and putting in an order for a 2023!
It really surprises me that GM would even consider building 23’s when they have so many 22’s in fields and/or orders not fulfilled yet. I really think GM is trying to get customers to cancel their orders like me who got their order in before the price increases since GM would make so much more on newer orders. Makes you wonder what’s happening behind the scenes.
      Cheers everyone,
      Jay

JayStewart. I wholeheartedly agree with your statement about Gm. My husband and I placed our order February 5 it wasn’t picked up by Gm so we are now having to start the process all over again. Due to the price increase we are changing our motor. Did you get a email from Chevrolet or GM?

Sorry that you had to change your order. I don’t understand how your order was not picked up? Was that your dealer’s fault or GM’s? No, I didn’t get an email from GM. Apparently, GM told my dealer that the multi-flex tailgate was on hold and then the dealer/salesman contacted me. I don’t understand how they can’t build the truck by putting in a reg. tailgate and then once they have one available, do a recall on mine. They are putting in chips later on as recalls, why can’t they put this specific part in later on? I plan to contact GM about this question and see where I get but my salesman says GM is good at deflecting issues back to the dealers when the dealers don’t have the answers, clearly GM should. It’s frustrating for sure.

JayStewart, Sorry for all the trouble you are having. Can I ask if your truck is built or if you have a TPW date? I don’t know which is worse 2022 order that weren’t picked up for the model year and have to reorder but at least at least in our case we got some compensation or the people who have TPW date that keep changing or truck sitting waiting for chips or to be transported. Ok, so how does this work now exactly? I ordered my 22 refresh, 6.2, max tow pkg, fancy tailgate, etc, etc 6/6/22. Got the GM email offer telling me tough luck, now it’s a 23 MY. Communication from my dealership has been absolute crap. In their defense, GM apparently completely sucks at communicating with their dealerships. So thru all of that don’t nobody know nothing apparently.
Will the dealership automatically apply my specs to a 23 MY & just let me know what features are/aren’t available or any new features that are available? Or do I need to put in a whole new order for a 23 MY now? If so, any ideas on when the Chevy website will update so we can build out or desired 23 MY trucks?
Appreciate the feedback. Best of luck to everyone else waiting on GM to get them theirs.

GOOD LUCK! GM is absolutely pathetic. Ordered LTZ 5.3 on 1/7. Truck built on 2/21 in Mexico. Still NO truck, no delivery date nothing from GM. Quality audit, are you kidding me? A first grader could have audited in less than 5 months! But seem to be stuck with this now 5 month old truck due to price increases and GM card credit. Contact dealer for more info, that is a favorite. They don’t give dealer anymore info than they give customer. I can track a $5 part from the west cost to my door in real time but GM can’t find a 60G truck!

I ordered a Duramax TB in March, dealer says it was produced 6/5, but only status is ‘Congratulations! Your vehicle has been produced. It is important to know that shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealer is the best source for additional detail on that process.’ But no status code.

I found one at a dealer about 200mi away that was very close, but didn’t have the multi tailgate. Was going to take that one but they had a $7k mark up on it. Thought if I got it the next week the dealer would notify me that the one I ordered was inbound.

Would be really nice to have a better way to track it.

I thought GM was cracking down on dealers adding the mark up/market adjustment on their vehicles? I think it is highly unethical for dealers to be doing this and taking advantage of the times just to pad their pockets.

Two dealers less than 100 miles from me were going to add $1K and $2K because I wasn’t local. They would have sold the vehicle that day if it wasn’t for the markup.

There is a non-GM dealer here that is adding $5,000 on all vehicles regardless if you’re 1 mile away or 100 miles away.

My dealer told me that GM “frowns” on charging over MSRP but has no real penalty for doing this. The only thing he has ever heard of is possibly losing an allocation the following month but that is rare. I am so lucky to have a dealer that still has integrity, it took me 15 months to actually get a truck allocated, built, and delivered but since my dealer is as honest as the day is long he gave me the same amount of discount on this truck that was available at the time I ordered it 15 months prior. It is a refreshed 4X4 LTZ crew, regular box with the 3.0 and loaded up. I have put just under 4K miles on it so far and am in love with it. Average MPG for the total miles driven so far exceeds 31 MPG. This combination of the 3.0 and the 10 speed transmission is so smooth it is unbelievable. For those of you waiting I can only hope you can find an honest dealer and eventually you get your truck. You won’t regret it unless you fall prey to the crooked games some dealers are pulling.

preston03, do you know where it was built? You should be able to do a VIN search to determine that. You should really love that 3.0. I got my LTZ with a 3.0 in June and it is fantastic. I have just under 4000 miles on it already and I am getting north of 30 MPG overall. This includes a trip we took on interstates at over 75 mph, regular roads at 60 mph, and everyday driving around home on secondary roads and in town. Couldn’t get more of a balanced mix of driving. It is so smooth with the 10 speed trans coupled to it. You will love it and worth the wait, I waited 15 months three orders, and two model years before I finally got an allocation and build.

Thanks for the info everyone. For those who ordered trucks months or even a year ago, that’s amazing you didn’t have to pay the price increases. A dealer I just recently talked to said that the price when ordered is only good for that model year, so if you happen to order in 2022, and end up getting a 2023, your price will not be the price you negotiated, rather it will be the price with the increases. If your dealer didn’t charge you, that’s awesome because according to this dealer, GM doesn’t hold the price in these situations. Has anyone heard the same or different?
      Thanks,

I don’t remember where I read it (on another forum probably) but GM sent a check to a guy that this happened to. He said the dealer did all the work and GM basically cut him a check for the difference between the two model years.

I ordered a refreshed ’22 LTZ with the LM2 in mid-June and order was accepted late June. I checked yesterday and it is currently in 3300 status. It was previously 3400 two weeks ago so not sure why it went backwards. It had a scheduled build date of 8/1 two weeks ago but this time they said it didn’t have a build date in the computer.

TonyD regarding price protection this is what I was told but I can’t really get a straight answer so not sure. Guess time will tell.
My inquiry on gm fb messenger.
Good afternoon. I factory ordered a 2022 Chevy Silverado refresh Rst redline crew cab 6.2. I have heard they are no longer making redline the 2022 model year. So I was wondering if there’s any information on if the are going to build redline package Chevy Silverado Rst for 2023 MY. Also how do i find out if the price protection that Gm provided carries over.
Thank you for your questions, Lisa.
      Their answer june 3, 2022
The Price Protection Program does not carry over into the next model year, meaning that if you were to not place an order in the 2022 model year, your order will not be price protected if you were to choose to place an order in the 2023 model year. As for your question regarding the Redline Package, we would recommend further discussing that with your dealership and their sales team, as we are unable to speculate on the matter. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. -Ender

I called Customer Service, and was told pretty much the same thing. Whereas the reorder is for the next model year, Price Protection is not in effect, unless your dealership honors it…. Basically, They pushed it back to the dealership. I’m going to talk to my salesperson, and if the numbers aren’t even close, I’ll pull the plug on the deal. I have a bought and paid for LS with way more stuff that runs great and still looks like new. After I placed my order, they raised the MSRP 1k, and they currently have no pricing on the 2023 MY. As is, for what they were charging for the 2022 model regular cab, in the previous year you could have got a double cab Custom…And a mono radio on top. I have a six speaker premium sound system now.

I picked up almost the identical truck that I have on order over the weekend. Glacier Blue TB with Duramax almost fully optioned. Found it at a little chevy dealership 200mi north of me. Had to pay a markup but turned out to be about what I would pay to drive my 2020 3500 for the next 6 months until the one I have on order ‘should’ arrive. Once the dealer informed me that my order would be converting to a 2023, I called the dealer up and got a good trade in and some off of the mark up. Haven’t told my local dealer about buying the new one and going to leave my order in place. Not sure what I’m going to do when it comes in but don’t have to make a decision right now.

Just an update on my 2022 refresh order (Silverado 1500 LTZ w/ 3.0 LM2)

Ordered mid-June, order accepted late June. Original TPW of 8/1 and then moved up to 7/25 around mid-July. Confirmed earlier this week that truck has been built and sitting at 3800. Chevrolet chat said 3-5 weeks for delivery but I’m expecting 8+ weeks.

I’m not sure where it was built though. I have the last 8 of the VIN but waiting on my dealer to get me my full VIN. Can Chevrolet chat give out VINs?

I’ve tried that and they keep telling me to go to my dealer. He’s out of the office so I can’t get it from him yet. I’ll try GM chat again and just ask for the VIN.

One odd thing though. Today I got the $3,000 offer email from GM because my order could not be fulfilled. I have an order number, received confirmation multiple times the order was accepted/picked up and built and even have the last 8 of my VIN. I even had GM Chat confirm today that it was indeed for a 2022 Silverado 1500 LTZ w/ 3.0 and they said yes.

When GM chat said I need to check with my dealer, they gave me my dealers name, location and phone number so I know they have the right order number.

It’s still sitting at 3800 with no ETA though.

Not sure about trucks built outside the USA, but when they leave the factory, GM automatically puts them on the dealers website, even if it’s sold. Dealer has no control until it hits their lot. They control only their physically in stock new and used vehicles. Mine showed up with “in transit” with no photos, but all other details, including the sticker. It came off the day after I picked it up.

My truck was delivered to the dealer on 8/22. 2022 1500 LTZ w/ 3.0

      Ordered 6/14
Accepted at the end of June
Early July it was given TPW of 7/25, built some time the next week (was delayed)
      Arrived at dealer on 8/22

According to chat it never got past 3800 and didn’t hit the dealer’s website until it was delivered. The last update on 8/15 with chat was that it was somewhere in Indiana waiting on a carrier with no ETA. The dealer even looked periodically and it kept saying In Transit with no ETA.

The only reason I can think of with getting it so quick was that it was build in Indiana plant and dealer is just north of Nashville, TN so it didn’t have to travel far.

OnlyInAChevy, how did you get your $3000 dollars from GM? I ordered my High Country in March, have been waiting ever since, and have heard nothing from my dealership so I expect it wasn’t built and would be a 2023? In the meantime, I went to another dealer, and they just so happened to order the exact truck I wanted which they said would be built next week and delivered mid to late September. So, I’m hoping that I can get this truck but in the meantime, wondering about the $3000 dollars you got and perhaps getting it to put down on a 2023 if this current truck I ordered does not come in.

      Hey Jay,

I got an email a few weeks ago that had a confirmation code attached to it. It said something along the lines of “we could not fulfill your recent 2022 order so here is a $3,000 rebate to use on any in stock 2022 Silverado or custom 2023 order.” I sent it to my dealer to check if it was for real and he called me back and said it was. Even they were shocked because I got the email after we got confirmation the truck had a TPW date set.

Did you ever get an order number from the first dealer? Either they didn’t get an allocation for an order or they just didn’t put it in. If the order was put in but not accepted then you might be able to get the rebate. The dealer should also be able to look it up by email/phone and it can’t hurt to have the dealer check.

Hey! Thanks for replying and the info. I’m glad you were able to get that since waiting all this time has been frustrating and costly as your trade-in declined in price, just like mine has (assuming you were going to trade in something). I have an order number so I will call GM and look into this. However, that is all I have. I have heard nothing from my dealership and/or GM. Something has gone wrong as my truck wasn’t even built. So, either my dealer screwed up or GM. We’ll soon find out.

However, in the meantime, I found another dealer a month ago that actually ordered in the same truck I wanted/ordered back in March. It’s supposed to be built next week and delivered in September but we’ll see. Fingers crossed but if I can get an extra $3000 that would definitely help as costs have risen and I definitely won’t get what I asked for out of my current chevy as I would have gotten back in March. I think the used car/truck market will show continued declines as the markets have shifted. Anyway, thanks again and I’ll let you know how it goes. I’m sure you are pretty excited to be driving yours!
      Cheers

If you have an order number at least that means the dealer put in the order. GM chat should be able to tell you what the status is with your order number. They usually don’t have a ton of useful information but can at least give you something.

It’s definitely worth a shot to have the dealer check on the $3,000 too.

I sold my truck vs trading it in knowing I would get way more than what anybody would offer. Carmax only offered $8,500 and the dealer offered $10K. I ended up selling it for $18,000 (2008 1500 w/ 163,000 in perfect condition) and sold it within a week of listing. I was without a truck for a few months though.

If you can go with out a truck and have another vehicle to drive, selling is the best way to go. You’ll get way more than on trade.

The Sky Blue is really special! One of those colors that won’t appeal to a lot of people which is good if you ask me.

New to the forums but have been reading for a while.

I placed an order for a 2022 refreshed 1500 LT Double Cab with the LM2 on April 22. Received an email on July 8 letting me know that they could not build the truck I ordered but here’s a special present which everyone’s heard about. Went back to my dealer who had not received anything about the order being canceled by GM. Checked the system and it still showed the order as active. Went ahead and placed an order for a 2023 1500 LT Double Cab with the LZ0 engine. Stopped by this last Thursday and he told my he had tried placing another order for a 1500 LT and the system rejected the order saying it was not within 120 days of production start. Dealer told me it looks like production for the Extended cabs will not start until January 2023 at the earliest. So, I guess the “present” which expires on January 3rd will be no good. Has anyone else heard this?.

So I order a 1500 High Country May 6th. It was built end of July or early Aug. It was made in Ft Wayne and has been at event code 3800 ever since. I check often with no changes. No one can tell me why the delay for Order BQDNVR. Is it waiting on chips or is it just sitting in a large lot waiting for rats to start chewing the cables. Over six weeks now at 3800.

Does anyone know of who’s palm I need to grease? I’m getting frustrated.

From what I’ve experienced in the past year or so with Chevy, your High Max is probably sitting and waiting for a carrier to load it and bring it to the dealer. I won some “heavenly lotto” and came across one at a dealer here in Florida (a loaded, refreshed Trail Boss with the diesel), paid the premium and scooped it up quick (knew the sales manager so I had a little inside info). But I also had a 22 Camaro SS ordered since March of 22. It got changed to a 23, and is STILL in 1100 status. They are shipping 23’s, yet there are over 1000 22’s supposedly sitting in Lansing waiting for not only transport, but starter push buttons (according to what I’ve read on a Camaro forum). I gave up, found a similar one on Chevy’s Inventory Site, made the deal over the phone, flew to the Michigan dealership to grab it, and had a great time driving it back to Florida.

Just commenting on this thread because it’s one of the top google search results when I search for “not been officially accepted by Chevrolet at this time”. I ordered a 2023 Chevy Silverado on Dec. 17. I need a basic WT for my business and added a few options like 8′ bed, spray-in liner, and multiflex tailgate. It has now been 12 weeks and the order is still sitting at “not been officially accepted by Chevrolet at this time”. My dealer has been unresponsive, it took a month just to get my order # from them so I could check status through the website.

Starting to get pretty frustrated. I am in Northern Virginia. None of the dealers near me have a single long bed truck on the lot. Seems like they only want to sell short bed trucks with big $$$ option packages. My current WT has 240,000 miles on it. Wondering if I’ll see a new truck this year or not? 😡

442_mike – I ordered a 2022 Silverado single cab WT with the 8′ bed in May of 2022. The order was eventually cancelled by GM in August of 2022 and my dealer put the order back in for a 2023 model. The dealer puts the blame on GM for not building single cabs currently.
Your right on the lack of single long beds out there, I had a different dealer tell me straight up he wouldn’t put my order in because the margins are too small for that pickup in the WT trim. What engine did you order? I’ve seen a couple shipping to dealers in other states in the west but they all have the 4 cylinder. I drove one in my old job and it was just gutless. I’d consider one if the mpg was significantly better but it’s only rated for +2 city/+1 hwy mpg.

I’ll be really curious to hear if you order gets accepted. I’m wondering if my dealer is lacking an allocation.

      Absolutely miserable process.
