AMP Research on refreshed trucks

So I took a gamble and ordered 78254-01A (Xtreme) because why not. Made a lot of assumptions based on the fact that they’re the same T1 truck.

Knowing the installation was time consuming and a PITA I decided to wire them up and mock them up off the truck. Upon fuse insertion one or two motors moves then nothing. Closing/opening the doors only makes them make a humming noise.

Anybody have any success on the refreshed trucks with AMP steps?

I know they have a sensor somewhere that when you hold your foot on them they know to stop. So I’m also wondering if them all being independent ( not on truck and no board between the two motors) that when one motor fires it doesn’t feel a pull on the second actuator so it disables itself.

I did the same and had the same results so I called amp research about it. They told me that they are still working on R&D and do not have an ETA for refreshed trucks yet. Hopefully you returned your steps and wait till they release their refresh version

I messaged our rep and asked the same thing when I purchased my 1500 RST Refresh, and they said the same. I just looked at AMP’s site and they now show a part number for the Silverado 1500 AND Silverado LTD(non-refresh) so I will email them tomorrow, check if they are indeed for the refresh and if they are shipping them. Part #AMP76255-01A for the crew cab.

Here is the reply from the AMP rep.

“Yes it is for the refresh Silverado and lead time is about 20-22 weeks from when the order is placed.”

I’m confused. Does this mean no steps available for 5 months? Or new orders take 5 months.

Has anyone tried pinning out the wires as suggested in AMP Install Instructions 76255-01 Page 9? It looks like they are running a Positap from a Light Green and Grey connector to the OBD2 port Blue and White wire. I think that is the only difference when comparing the instructions for 76255-01 and 76254-01 and 78254-01

I took the old AMP kit off my 2019 Trailboss hoping to re-use it on my 2022 but like others have been waiting on AMP to update and sell parts to the public.
